Well, I think they are targeting modern DirectX 11 hardware with Unreal Engine 4, so they can't release on consoles until PS4 and XBox 720 are out without dumbing it down to the UE3 level.

This seems bullshit to me, because when they "go and buy another one" they'll most likely buy one from another company, or they may buy a movie, music, other entertainment or just nothing at all.

I'm only aware of Master of Orion 2 (and 3, but that's unplayable) and Galactic Civilizations 1/2.
What have I missed?

Well, I don't think games like Pong, Pac-Man, Super Mario, Duke Nukem required a sophisticated audience...
Fundamentally, back in the day games were new and exciting, so people were willing to...

Are you kidding?
DX10 is a redesign from scratch of the whole API, and also a redesign of GPU hardware with shaders being unified and geometry shaders added (as well as compute shaders, although...
Civilization and Dungeon Crawl are both very effective at keeping people awake due to the well-known "one more turn" effect, while not being action games at all and having reasonable system...

Next generation consoles will most likely have DirectX 11 level GPUs, which should cause a drastic increase in the number of DX11 games.
Regarding DX11 tessellation, the whole point is that it is...
On the contrary, as a non-native English speaker, I think subtitles are essential, and should always be on by default.
Even better, there should be a chat log that allows you to reread past...
Yeah, what I'm saying is precisely that Blizzard doesn't do such an awesome job at those game.
But on Diablo 3 front, they are the only ones to ever try to do a soloable online progression game...
True, but even if one is not playing hardcore, as long as he is raiding the gameplay/progression/challenge structure is pretty much the same, because people just move to the next boss if they killed...
No, I think I started playing videogames with DOS shareware games.
Anyway, offline single-player games are very common (although perhaps there are less really good ones nowadays), but the kind of...
An offline game is a wholly different thing, since anyone can just turn on god mode using a memory editor and post a video of killing the last boss the day the game is launched.
As a result,...
During my gaming experience, I found that the game genre that I most enjoyed and that managed to capture my attention the longest is what I'd call the "PvE difficulty progression game".

Diablo 3 is a fully instanced MMORPG.
Like all MMORPGs, it is played for the enjoyment of competing with others on gear progression and "raid" progression and achieving status based on those,...
Anyone else has trouble logging in to Gamespot?
I put in my newly registered and confirmed e-mail and password, click login, and it just does nothing.
I know they are correct, because if I type...
From the title, I immediately thought of a dystopian future in which Valve ruled the world.
On the topic, is this going to be pay-to-win crap like many such games, or will it be strictly supported...

The gold auction house and shared stash are still there (albeit separate from the softcore versions), which means that characters are not standalone, which results in totally different gameplay from...

I don't think Diablo 3 has much in common with a roguelike.
If you play it seriously, it's probably best seen as a fully instanced MMORPG with solo endgame, randomization, and a real money item...
How about just reviewing all scene releases as they come out?

Xenoblade Chronicles using the Dolphin emulator.
Chrono Trigger using the bsnes (or snes9x) emulator.
Final Fantasy VIII and IX and Chrono Cross using the PCSX emulator (or others).
I really agree with this.
My dream game is one where every time someone wants to respec, a guy is dispatched to their home, kicks them hard in the nuts, follows up with a chain of punches to the...
Yeah they need to die in a fire.
Let's go back to the old model where the stupid masses fund games by purchasing them for no reason, while us smart guys just get everything for free thanks to our...
The spam doesn't seem to be targeted to this site's topic, so it seems some generic spambot, and thus I wonder how they are getting past the question about Mr. Rossignol's first name.

The best solution are good Internet connections, and nearby servers.
At 60fps you have 16ms per frame, and in 16ms light can travel around 4800km, which is quite enough for a roundtrip to a...

Haven't played EvE, but the fact that you need to engage in politics involving large organizations and probably will have a very limited game experience unless you eventually reach a leadership...
