Jesus, what a minefield. So I should get the identically priced CX550M over the CX600M?

The man with the answer to everything! ;) Thanks Cei. I really appreciate it. The 600w equivalent of that PSU is on sale today for cheaper than the 550w version so I will get that. They also have a...

I have a similar thread going on reddit and they suggested a Antec TruePower Classic 550W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply that is only 4 pounds more or something. Someone else also...
Today is 'Amazon prime day' with loads of supposed good deals on technology. Has anyone spotted anything good or know of any websites that list them? I'm struggling to find anything...

But it does still have room for an HDD, on the back, so I can still make use of one.

Thanks Cei, I really appreciate all the help.
I would buy 16gb of RAM.
I have to say I have never needed to use PCIe slots and I may potentially be taking this in luggage on a flight in a years...

I'm moving back to England for a year or so and want a new computer and peripherals. I dislike being hunched over using a laptop and I don't really want to be playing for a whole year on...
I made a separate thread for this in the subforum but I get the feeling that most people don't look at the other threads in this subforum and just come straight here:

I moved to Peru from the UK and stopped playing DOTA for a whopping two years while I did not have a decent internet connection. I've now finally bought a good PC and paying a load for a decent...

Thanks for all the recommendations guys! Anything a bit under the radar / indie would be highly appreciated - what about this massive horde of zombie/survival games, are there any gems there? I...

I played a lot before coming out here so I'm mainly interested just in things released in the last two years that I won't be aware of.

As you might have seen in my post in the tech forum, I have been living in Peru for the last two years with just a crummy laptop and I have finally managed to make a decent gaming PC. I've played a...

All made and works well although the 1866 RAM is apparently not compatible with the motherboard and has to run at 1600. The windows key worked flawlessly, for now. Thanks so much for everyone's help!!

It's $25 via paypal with a long list of positive comments and it's just a serial key. If it works then great if not it's only $25 and god knows how much I'm already spending to get this thing to...

I'm quite tempted to try the $25 serial purchase from reddit... it's so cheap it seems worth a go?

The GTX 970 is a ball-crushing $500 over here. It really doesn't seem worth $170 to upgrade from R9 280 3gb for that. It also seems to be actually impossible to get a genuine copy of windows, any...

I really appreciated your reply Cei and multiple professional unbiased articles seem to very clearly agree 'this card is weird but no matter how hard we try we can't get it to break':

Thanks, that was a really informative article. I will find out how much they are going for in my dodgy market.

I'm not sure they even sell legal copies of Windows here... Can I get it from the internet somehow?
The RAM is clocked at 1866.

Thanks guys! What would be the next step up over a R9 280 then? Something that would match with the i5 4460...?
29-03-2015, 10:31 PM
Well that first system with an i5 but with the R9 270 is still in my budget, how about that?
