can anybody point me to a good place to host a small minecraft server (just looking to play with my girlfriend who has had to move away for work). The official Realms appear quite expensive...

I've recently returned to CiV:BNW, as I've never felt I really invested enough time into it. But my word, that's a slow game. Playing on just on a standard map is painfully slowly and waiting the for...
Cool, great and thanks!
I see Blands2 is in the humble bundle sales... I'm tempted to buy two copies so I can play through with my other half. Does anybody know if this will work, given that she has an imac?
Frozen Synapse and Cortex are both excellent and feel like computer board games.
And, I'll add in Go, as that's the game (or any kind) that I play the most and I mainly play on the computer (need...

This would make for an interesting blog/essay/report if you ever collect enough info. Its an interesting question and I'm surprised it hasn't all been documented already.
Agreed. Isn't it great that we're getting a wider variety of such games in a genre that has traditionally been pretty stagnant. With 4x games going in more different directions, it's more likely that...

That is an interesting question.
SoaSE did a great job with DLC... both Entrenchment and Diplomacy were fairly small contentwise, but they were also pretty cheap and did a great job at improving...
I've just started playing Xenonauts and enjoying it.
I didn't really enjoy DoW2. It just felt really dumb to me.

Sid Meier's Pirates! is a good example. As you get older, you get slower at fencing.

It's a pretty old drive (hsa been copied over from previous PC builds). I picked up a new SSD for my C: last time I build my machine. now things are cheaper, I can probably get a decent SSD for my D:...

Huh. Back from my bath, and the D: drive has reappeared.
Time to order a new drive and backup everything before it dies for good right?

I expect I've just had my first HD failure. Before getting annoyed with my PC, I'm going to go have a bath. If somebody could link to some useful suggestions for diagnosing the problem, that...

Good point! I guess that's another reason I dislike the mode. From what Helio's saying, I'd probably of enjoyed Batman more if I could of jumped into New Game + (but with some sort of extra learning...

Neither do I, when I think about it, but it still bugs me. Maybe I'm trying to surpress an inner-completionist.
So Helio, should I give Batman:AC a play through on NG+? If it fun, or frustrating?...

But, they could of achieved the same thing with having a good Hard mode. Exactly like XCOM... playing on classic-ironman is far more interesting than normal. I am not saying that I don't want the...

Or is it just me?
For example, in Batman AC, which is a great single player "story driven" game. I really enjoyed playing it. But then upon completing it, the game informed me that I hadn't...

Hmm. The bight green pixel has vanished on its own accord.

Update: less than a week later and I have a dead pixel. Bright green and in the middle of my display. :(

So I went for the BenQ GL2250HM and so far, I'm very happy with it.

Ooh. That Dell U2414H looks nice. Hmmm. Considerably more expensive, but still within my price range and I'm guessing it's a lot better? But then, is it better enough to warrant the price...

So, would would a 24" screen be a little too large for 1920*1080 resolutions? if so, I'll go for the 21.5" model you suggested (there's no 22"). I don't really see the point of buying a really large...

I have decided to treat myself to a new monitor for my PC. In the sales if possible :)
I don't want a massive panel the size of my tv. And I don't care about 4k resolutions, etc.
