I don't know. Is asking investment from potential customers really a good deal? Well reputed craftsmen in the old day will take preorders for designing and crafting stuffs, prerequisite is we must know this craftsman very well to be confident he will definitely deliver right on time.

From what I remember they were originally developing the game on CryEngine 3 but later switched to unity, I'm sure if they stilled use it loads of people would be pouring money into it

So, after three years of hard observing someone work on GoaT EA is finally upon us. Seith (the dev) has run out of funds and hence commences with EA, which is fair enough if you ask me, seeing the game is already looking very finished.
