Coriolanus which is a very good modern adaptation of the shakespeare play that I don't think I have heard of. Its not stuffy or static like some adaptations, they use his language like conversation and they do the action like an action film which is good. I really think the story is captivating and Ralph Fiennes is very good and can do intense very well with his three dimensional title character, the rest does very well in there roles. It makes me want to see other stories of shakespeare done in this way.

21st Jumpstreet and Argo.
Argo began good and then cliché'ed the hell out of tension scenes, stretching tensions scenes to a point where it was annoying and stretching just for the sake of stretching. They make not make it in time, good they're in the bus, wait, the bus won't start., oh now it does. just in time.

Seen a few movies recently, namely Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, which tells the story of a couple (Ethan Hawke, and Julia Delpy) who meet and spend a night together, and then their subsequent meeting 9 years later.
The movies were fairly charming, but some of the dialog is a bit out there in a way as I couldn't imagine ever having a conversation with someone that would bring up the kind of deeply philosophical discussion that it did in the movie. Otherwise I'm looking forward to seeing how their story continues in the next movie, which I think is coming out this year.
Also saw Gattaca recently, and found it be as excellent as everyone says. One thing about the ending did bother me though: [spoiler?] Why does Jude Laws character decide to commit suicide, rather than actually travel as he said he would? just seemed a bit melodramatic to me. [/end spoiler].
And I caught Seven Psychopaths as well, which was far funnier than I was expecting, and was otherwise very uh, unusual?

@The JG Man
That makes sense, I just never really got the impression from the character that that was how he felt.

I haven't really met anyone in the "middle ground" on Waking Life. It's a fairly polarizing film.

- A place with many doors
A Lonely Place to Die. It's not without faults concerning the probability of certain events (not to spoil anything), but all in all one of the better action thrillers I know. Plus amazing cinematography of the rock climbing stuff and dramatic Highlands vistas.

Just watched Gattaca, I really like it. The ending left me a bit confused though
What exactly is lock of hair at the end supposed to signify? I think it was more than just extra dna samples because Jerome asks Vincent to open it when he gets upstairs. Before this scene is the sequence of the shuttle launching and Jerome incinerating which I think is meant to show that both Jeromes are leaving earth together. Is that what the lock of hair is about, that Vincent is carrying Jerome with himself to space, that he is sharing his dream with Jerome? [/spoiler]

Ocean's Twelve is a movie that you really need to pay attention to enjoy. A lot of things I don't understand the first time I watched it I get the second time I watched it. When I do, it just engrossing to see how they do their jobs, plans and all. And talk about the humor in this movie. God, it's hilarious! It's a kind of film that I'll never get tired of watching.
OTT, Oblivion was okay. I loved the idea of the setting in this movie but I felt that the movie could do better. Loads of mindfucks

Cloud Atlas I really liked it the good thingabout it is that its really engaging in all its stories and its quite clever in its use of actors playing different roles. The way it is cut is just amazing i actually really get the simarlarities with each story and get the deeper meaning its about so so many things all at once that i cant help but admire the filmakers for trying this. The only thing i have against it is that it has a tendacy to have a character narrate every half hour near the end and have the 6 storylines do what that narrator is saying. Other then that i do believe this is an underated gem of this year.

Life of Pi - well, that was shit.
The visuals are what matter most in movies for me. This movie is gorgeous but so fucking bad I couldn't enjoy it at all. The best shot is in like the first five minutes anyway :/
Bonus points for the flying fish breaking the matte in 3D though. I was upset when Dredd didn't do this but the online clips had the effect. It's a cheap trick but I like it.

Evil Dead - went to see it last night, good movie. Bit slow at the start, but after that it delivers on what you want it to. Good gory scenes, good fun and had the whole cinema laughing and grimacing."Halo is designed to make the player think "I look like that, I am macho sitting in my undies with my xbox""
