Thread: What TV shows are you watching?

* super zoom on product placement phone*
I remember when Smallville entered the modern era they began to use everything windows too. Those super obvious default Windows 7 desktop wallpapers were hilarious.
I don't mind product placement but sometimes it's just so aggressive, the later seasons of Bones also got on in it.
"Angela: Jack, do you still have those files I needed?
Jack: Oh, yeah I have it on my Skydrive.
There's a load more of this here http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list...UAc_2iany1sa68. It's hilarious but makes me hate everything. ;p
In other on topic news, Orphan Black remains an excellent show.

I'll have to follow that link and explore the playlist. Sounds like my kinda thang. There are a few cases where it does work, but they're situational at best. It worked in Chuck because they were so on the nose and over-the-top about it, plus it kind of fit in with the characterisation (also the fact that the appealing to Subway got the show renewed meant I was okay with it) and then you have Castle where it's somewhat justified by the fact that Castle has so much money to blow that he could buy all these new gadgets and would show them off; that's just how he is. There are other times though where it isn't as good, even in the same episode.
I'm going to look into Orphan Black as well. Caught a synopsis on it and thought it sounded pretty interesting.
Anyhow, for shows I have watched! Up to date on New Girl now. The last episode had Zooey Deschanel be just impossibly good looking, but I am a sucker for brunettes. Also and far more importantly, it's still as enjoyably entertaining as it has been. This season has been pretty damn solid. Only a couple of episodes have properly failed to do much for me. I want to introduce it to more of my friends, but they already laugh at me for watching it. Caught up with the last two Doctor Whos as well, which have both been great fun. I have noticed that both don't seem to have had sterling sound mixing, with some dialogue occasionally not being audible. I hope they sort that one out.

This season of Doctor Who has been rather goood lately especially on characteristics only the first episode was a damper spot and it wasn't that bad. The characters the doctors meet are so much better in this season they seem pretty fully realized and also crucially don't need the doctor to much.
Also whoever has the rights to Quatermass shame on you, it would have been my geeky pleasure to have had the Doctor and Quatermass meet especially since the feel of the show for the last two episodes has been very Quatermass and The Pit like.

Funnily enough, someone (and I want to say the BBC) did a remake of The Quatermass Experiment, but filmed it live, with the main character being played by...David Tennant. It's up on YouTube in parts. I've never seen it myself though, so I can't tell you of its quality.

I thought the first two episodes of the new run of Who were fairly mediocre but it has picked up since then, with the submarine episode being the highlight so far. With that in mind I'm looking forward to the next few particularly as there's another Gatiss episode and a Neil Gaiman episode to look forward to.
I've started watching Spooks from the beginning, as I abandoned it after the third series (no real reason, think it was just I happened to do something that night and this was back in the days when you had to go to the effort of setting video recorders). I'd forgotten that it was unusually brutal for a British series (that deep fat frier scene in the second episode!). It's also amusing watching it from a technology perspective, seeing spies with what looked like a Nokia 3310 or one of its ilk was rather nostalgic.

I thought the episode that just aired of Who was awesome.
any thoughts on continuum?

Continuum is weak but watchable. There's some interesting stuff in there but it's buried under the padding required to eke it out for an episode/season. None of the cast has much charisma and the scripts are weak.Open-faced sandwiches are upon you whether you would risk it or not.

Game of Thrones Season 3 Episode 4: WHAT THE FU- just kidding. Good episode, and handled well. So much happened that'll keep the fans talking all week. I wasn't sure what to think about Theon staying in this season, but on reflection it seems like the right choice. We get to experience his anguish first-hand and see how he becomes... oops, I'm getting ahead a bit there.
That Unsullied army sure looked impressive eh?

Yeah,it just keeps getting better and better this season and of course, there's still lots of awesome moments to come. I've a feeling this is going to be the best season (in much the same way it was the best book).
Also love the interplay between Varys and the Queen of Thorns. Diana Rigg is brilliant and the character is even more enjoyable than in the book. Hope they can expand her role a bit, like they've done with Margaery. Oh and Varys' line about Littlefinger burning the kingdom just to rule the ashes was wonderful

Great episode, can't wait for the next. Ending was awesome, though I guess it's not going to be as simple as it seems.

I really liked that episode I think this season is pretty good at everything its been adapting so far...very interested in Beric and Hounds fight. Also good visual to show Jaimes downfall, I did wonder since a lot of the thirds book Jaime s power was that you were in his ehad and it seemed like he became a decent guy how they were getting around that but seeing how they did what they did I think its pretty good.
Though I have no idea how there going to get around the fact that
That Boltons become under the Iron Throne which I really doubt they would now since I doubt that either Tywin or Cersei would forgive him but we will see
I knew I'd like last nights episode after my girlfriend had told me it was brilliant and she's been so so about the series since about half way through season 2.
The writers and the actor playing Jamie are doing a great job with the character and as someone mentioned they're really making you feel bad for this guy who only a few episodes ago most people would've been happy to see die. Theon once again proved himself to have absolutely no sense of self awareness and will just blindly follow complete strangers based on their word. His escort practically said it himself when he mentioned not all his sisters men are loyal.
I really like how Margaery is managing to manipulate Joffrey and it looks like she's doing the same to Sansa, whose either smart and in on it or Ned Stark raised a bunch of dumb asses.
I'm very tempted to abandon my current book and just start reading the rest of the GoT series.

It's the under and on wrong side of the Dothraki Sea. So she still has a ways to go to get near to Westros.
