There are times when I reflect and think "man, I so picked the right hobby." This is not one of them
(actually seeing the Doritos Pope absolutely was)
(and it's weird the charisma that hat gives to what used to look like such a dead face)

While I'm sure it'll be cringeworthy, I don't really care that this sort of event happens. Ah well. Samuel L Jackson, at least.

Free OLD SCHOOL GAMER T-shirts under every seat, all emblazoned with some kind of wildly anachronistic logo that makes anybody who actually played a videogame prior to 2006 grind their teeth into a fine paste

IIRC, I watched last year's show. I'm still not certain what that show was about, but it certainly wasn't about video games.

Chances for Fallout 4, then guys? Bethesda are doing DLC, I guess but apart from that they've got nothing.

Fucking hell, fifteen seconds of that was too much for me. It's like Entertainment Tonight for people who pretend to like videogames.
"We wanted to make like a Nike for nerds, like a lifestyle brand for nerd culture because there just didn't seem to b-" click.
Actually it was educational; I had been wondering why despite being more accepted and visible, nerds are suddenly far more boring than they ever used to be. It used to take a certain amount of bloody-mindedness to pull it off, so there'd usually be genuine conviction hidden behind the social awkwardness and inculcated self-loathing, but now it's all pretty much prescribed and most of the ones I meet are just... lazy. And ironic. And they treat games like catchphrases. And I think I just saw a partial explanation.
These are by far my snobbiest forum posts ever but frankly I'm bloody proud of that at the moment.
edit: on a happier note, I was impressed with how well the stream worked.
