Played a little on Matherson earlier today - at Dahaka Uplink Hub there were BR 80+ Fury Harassers cruising along the battlements after climbing the stairs. Three of them pretty much locked down the entire outpost.
Is there any reason at the moment to not just use Fury / AV Harassers and Dalton / Tank Buster Libs, with the odd Sunderer thrown in there?

Basically, no. Harrassers can run rings around MBTs and Lightnings, and deal a ludicrous amount of damage to both, and can still take a serious amount of return fire before they have to withdraw.
I seriously think Harrassers should be a two-hit kill with any AV weapon, maybe up to three hits once you max certs - slowing down in a Harrasser should be a recipe for instant death. You shouldn't be able to just park next to infantry and/or tanks and kill them before they can even drop you to half health.

^ That was my instinct too, then I realised... not enough certs. It did make me think about how I now take having C4 and tank mines for granted on my main character - I was pretty much unable to do anything to counter the Fury spam.

Sky guards work surprisingly well against harassers.AKA Rushtone

It's the muzzle velocity and refire rate I think. It's pretty good.

State of the game: laggy and prone to crashes (more so than normal on both counts).
Is anyone else finding GU11 to be the least stable yet?

But, all my keybinds! I suppose one can copy the keybinds part.

Hmm, they're in a different file, are they? Might give this a try then, because I've been crashing like mad since GU07 or so.

There's a range of local files SoE recommend deleting, I'll see if I can find them later. Previously when I've done that it's prevented loading issues etc but also messed up an apparently random selection of kekeybinds.

Run your Planetside 2 Launchpad and log in, but do not press play. Click on the Advanced Tools icon (looks like a hexagon surrounding a wrench) in the lower left and then choose the option to open game directory. In the window/folder that comes up, locate and delete the following files
Once these files are deleted, close the Planetside 2 window/folder and go back to the Launchpad > Advanced Tools/Settings menu. Click on the Validate Game Assets menu option and then press the green Validate button to have the Launchpad check your game files, and download any missing or corrupt files.
That was originally posted in response to a specific issue but it seems to be quite commonly used as a fix. Probably worth doing if anyone's experiencing performance issues.
P.S. Do we/should we have a tech support thread in our forums for this sort of stuff?

I highly recommend not removing the inputprofiles file, because that contains your keybinds. At least I have about a couple of dozen keybinds off of default.
I tried deleting the UserOptions.ini and that seems to have helped my crash issues, actually. So, yay! I hope.

I dont even have an inputprofiles.ini, just an inputprofiles_default.ini and an inputprofiles_user.ini

Having been plagued by crashes happening every so often, I just tried this:
Can't attest to its effectiveness just yet, but it's worth a try!
Delete Assets_157.something-or-other and restart the launcher.Apparently, this file had got messed up by one of the updates, according to OP.

For those experiencing lots of crashes and running with the PhysX enabled, you may want to try disabling PhysX.
I had been running with PhysX for some time and noticed some severe instability around GU7 (I think), things improved a bit subsequently (although PS2 was still quite unstable) but then deteriorated around GU9. At one point following GU9 I had 8 crashes in just over an hour.
I noticed something on the PS2 forums about disabling PhysX, so prior to GU11 I clamped down on all my various graphics settings and gradually brought things back up. I've had few to no crashes with PhysX disabled and have been able to put all my other settings back to what they were previously.

re: the physx thing, I was crashing to desktop with no error message over and over again since GU10 - then I installed this http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/..._download.html and everything seems stable once again!
praise vanu etc

So I return to PS2 after half a year or so and what do I see?
Well, a lot of nice things. Lattice. VR. New sounds. New physics. Balance tweaks. Weapon stats. Smooter performance.
And none of that touches on or fixes the core problems with the game.
