HIDDEN TREASURES OF TYRIA - Saturday 28th January - 16:00 GMT (17:00 CET)
It's been a long time since we held an open PvE GW2 event for the main community... so here it is!
The Stalking Dead was three months ago, and really fun. It's basic premise and attractive art brought along loads of new people, including someone from ArenaNet!
Since then, we've held some amazing events within the guild exploring some of the HoT maps (and who can forget HERO SQUAD at HOLIDAYTIMES!?).
At the end of 2016, I posted this thread on the subreddit, and was inspired to host a PvE event based around some of the answers. So that's what's going on during the 28th!
We're going to explore some of the lesser-known cool spots around the game, possibly throwing in a few jumping puzzles and world bosses along the way!
TL;DR: Turn up at Southsun Cove on Saturday 28th January at 16:00 GMT (17:00 for most of Europe). Join us on Discord. Come for (roughly) two hours of funsies. Finish with metas in Bloodstone Fen.
Unlike many of our other events, we won't be running from starting location to finish. Instead, we'll be porting around the world map (mainly Central Tyria, not the HoT stuff), so bring a level 80 with decent map completion!
The aim is to end before our usual raid start-time of 19:30 GMT in Bloodstone Fen. There's not actually any 'treasures' in Bloodstone I want to point out... just it's a good place to keep running the various meta events for the public (and non-raiders) until things tail-off naturally.
So pull that beige shirt out of the wash, put on that fedora, and pick up that whip; it's time to find some of the HIDDEN TREASURES OF TYRIA!
Next post will have details of what we're actually going to cover, so don't read it if you don't want to be spoiled!

The list of places! Highlight to read properly (spoilers!).
Start: Southsun Cove nude beach (16:00 GMT). Jumping puzzle on Pearl Islet. Manually spawn and kill Karka Queen while there.
Then to Queensdale, for Bear's Picnic, Tirzie the Painter, the Godslost Swamp books, threaten the ettin door, and do Demongrub Pits while in the neighbourhood (apparently 'messing around' in the tunnels spawns skale nests).
Plains of Ashford to salute the statue of Pyre Fierceshot, and visit the lake south of the crafting stations when the couple are there (Monkey knows about this one). Loreclaw Expanse for the puzzle (hahahaha you love it!). Loads of events usually up anyway.
Harathi Hinterlands for the blog boat, jumps at the very north of the map (does anyone know how to get near there? If not we'll do the pirate puzzle), kneel in front of the statue of Dwayna where all the ghosts are to the west, and we'll visit the dolyak graveyard to the east.
Fireheart Rise, to kill the skale in both cascades southwest of Tuyere Command Post. Monstrous Lava Elemental under Citadel of Flame. Modus Sceleris tournament north of Fuller Cistern lake. Good opportunity to do any of the escort/base events in that map too.
Silverwastes chest farm - one run.
End in Bloodstone Fen at approximately 18:00 GMT. We'll run events until people get tired.
We'll walk around zones so long as it's realistic (i.e. we're not late for a meta event).
In general, we must also look behind every waterfall, and kill drakes when they appear in mobs (they spawn Drake Broodmothers). Keep an eye out for any merchants selling 'luck potions' too... so we can 'look' under their carts.
No WvW for obvious reasons (which means we miss out on the ghosts, cat room, and mythical giant spider unfortunately!). No map-breaking. No Whispers bases because I don't like that order. Avoided events which may only 'sometimes' spawn (aside from my favourite in Fireheart Rise). Avoided organs because trying to play them as a zerg is a bit mental. Avoided events which rely on a drop (like the keys in Dredgehaunt?), or for it to be a certain time of day.

Update for this evening, then.
Firstly, if you don't mind being spoiled, you can now check the second post in this thread above for a list of the evening's locations and targets.
Secondly, thanks to Ifrix for compiling this wonderfully organised spreadsheet from the locations uncovered by the Lion's Arch Exploratory Report. I knew of lots of the locations already, but there's a few I didn't even think of, which are now incorporated into the event.
Thirdly, Monkey has suggested we have a costume competition based around Indiana Jones. It's a great idea, so dress up as your favourite Indiana Jones character for the chance to win some fabulous prizes! I'm open to suggestions for what those prizes actually should be.
That's it for now... but I'm still on the lookout for someone who can make the banners etc. to do this event justice!

I think the components (scarf and goggles) were on the TP at very reasonable prices.[GW2] The Blackfyre clan: Aliss (Guardian) Alyss (Mesmer) Lyss (Engineer) and others.

Capital idea. I'll buy up some TP supply, and feel free to donate any via mail (or Guild Bank?) if they're not bound.
Also, Rebel is doing some art for this event. He showed a preview earlier. I spaffed myself.
