    Posts on reddit getting the community talking
    The basic organisation structure down

    Extremely clear rules on what non zombies should do.

    Last year I talked to some outfits doing annoying things, and many of them didn't realise they where considered annoying. Simple rules like "no unreachable spots and nothing that can't be killed with knives unless it's really funny". Also important to note is that most participants are zombies and/or spend most of their time as zombies, so zombie quality of life must come first. (Letting outfits take turns as survivor scenarios might be a good idea for creating good fights, but there are plenty of issues and must be handled.).

    We should really do it with another faction as the Zombies - otherwise all the farmers from the last two years will be back. I guess it will just feed their alts tho...

    Yeah the people who farmed will farm again. I'm going to see if I can get outfit leaders to put in as zombies from the start to make it a bit better.

    You should speak to the PSB guys, theyve been interested in helping in the past. They may be able to aid in organisation, help get outfits involved, provide a comms link with daybreak, and help with fun police.

    I wanted to try my hand at talking to the other outfits about farming. I think we can do a lot there.

    Changing faction is something I think we should avoid. I like seeing people run around with their zombie vanu characters.

    I think our main farming problem was SCEV and they're no more. It's probably worth putting in a polite word to a few of the other outfits who might be an issue but I'd say we wait and see their response on the main thread.

    One thing that someone brought up is that we should maybe do it across 2 factions because people had a lot of issues with population caps on a continent. It could be a cool twist this year to have a zombie vs zombie event as well.

    A few outfits have agreed to help bolster the initial zombie numbers for us.

    Last year there was a bit of an issue with zombie hunters as well, since en masse they are the same as farmers whether they intend it or not. It's only an issue when there are too many of them, like at one point I'm sure there was a platoon's worth of individual groups in one base, meaning we had to redirect the horde to a different base which isn't really fun for anyone involved.

    Dunno, may be worth at least mentioning this to people who intend to oppose the zombie horde so they are aware of the potential issue of having too many people doing the same.

    Personally what I like best is swarming all over an existing fight and seeing the players react naturally. >.<

    It would be my honour and my pleasure to Speak for the Dead again, with as few references to the novels subsequent to Ender's Game as possible. The religious and family drama really wasn't what I expected or desired as a followup to such a fun story.

    I've not much organisational input to give, except that commands have to be delivered quickly and cleanly, and we must find a way to properly balance time spent devoted to a target/horde-running to another target, versus surrendering a regional investment and rapidly recalling and redeploying forces. Avoiding boredom/a sense of repetitive frustration for our loyal dead is the absolute highest priority.

    Does anyone have any suggestions or requests for how I manage the vocal stuff when giving orders? I generally just ad-lib as best I can until my throat bleeds, but if there are any themes or flavours anyone would like to see conveyed, or plot-fluff related to nanite-zombies I could hint at, that could be entertaining.

    We need to have survivor sl s talking to its so we can keep them at a manageable number/ different bases.

    We should include a rule of "nothing that can't be killed with knives used by medics",

    We should explain clearly that we want to have survivors but zombie qol comes first.

    That, on top of last years prep, should be gravy.
    I also believe that being clear that last year we noted outfits that meant well but were problematic, which is why we see a need to be clearer, will help us spread rules effectively.

    See, that poster was probably the cause of the issue last year. Did we ever want or need organized zombie hunters? It makes it seem like it's a bigger part of the event than it is, people always showed up to have fun fighting the horde previously but we didn't have the problem of too many zombie hunters.

    The only rule we need for non-zombies is 'don't farm or you can expect to be ganked by the fun police'.

    I think we just let people do whatever they want to. If they want to play it L4D style feel free, just don't be a farming arse.
