In memoriam - SophiaButler, 1994-2015
Today we have lost a friend.
Sophia is no longer with us, after taking her life this morning. She was, and shall remain, a valuable member of the RPS community, one who we shall remember for everything she did. Sophia was there to lead, was there to have fun and ultimately one of us. She had a complex and difficult background, but that is not important, what is important is who she was.
Sophia believed in important things. She believed in equality for all, and she fought for it. She fought against those who tried to knock her down, and she imparted important things to all. She will be missed.
She will be remembered.
Rest in peace.
Donations in Sophia's name to Albert Kennedy Trust please. They support LGBT+ young people who are made homeless or living in a hostile environment, and this is something we feel Sophia would have liked.

Oh shit! Poor Sophia. Thoughts go out to her friends and kin. It's a real shame that she can't see the love shown here and reddit.
EDIT: She was only 21? That's doubly saddening.

We butted heads, but at the end of day she was fun to play Planetside with. She challenged our views, and stood firmly for what she believed in. You'll be missed Sophia.Come play some Wildstar.

By the way, I'm here for people to talk to. I know I'm the guy down the end of a headset telling you what to do normally, but I am trained in this. Come talk to me if you need to.

My deepest condolences to Sophia's family and friends. Rest in peace Sophia. Sophia was a divisive person, but Sophia's passion and commitment to causes Sophia believed in was clear to all and one that I personally respected and admired Sophia for.
Hope eveyone is holding up ok with this news.GW2: fersumengin, Ulstermen, Hera Tempastatis

In the general, look after yourselves before getting wrapped up in commemoration. Please, talk to one another about Sophia, suicide, whatever, whether you fell you personally 'need to' or not. Chat to anyone else in the outfit or IRL, take Cei up on the offer. Partly because getting awkward and not discussing helps no one and partly because, 'online friend' or whatever, suicide by someone you know can be a bitch to deal with.
Regarding 'doing something' I think, yes, sure, we should do something. But I'm not sure leaning on DBG for some kind of gesture is the right thing. Something in game would be good, but we can easily follow the 'officail' routes for PlayerStudio stuff. As for anythign else, it should be something within the community, and something with a bit of levity I'd suggest. Probably involving Harassers..."KING GEORGE IS A FROG

This is terrible news. My condolences to her family and whoever was close to her.
I'd like to emphasise what Cei said above. If you don't want to talk to someone on the internet about this but feel the need to get it off your chest anyway, maybe consider looking up the phone number or address of a counselling institution. Don't think you have to deal with this all on your own.
