Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Netflix is doing an Assassin’s Creed TV show, and it should be a direct sequel to the movie

I'm dead serious, on both counts. Netflix's NX Twitter account just Twote out a little teaser for a live action Assassin's Creed Netflix Original Series. Right now there's no date, no hint at the setting, and no actors attached. It is a few bars of that musical sting we all love, and the AssCreed logo with an N in it.

Ubisoft Connect will support cross-saves for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and other new releases

Ubisoft's PC game launcher Uplay is getting a makeover and a name change to extremely straightforward Ubisoft Connect for PC. It may not have a terribly cute nickname, but Ubisoft Connect is bringing cross-progression between PC and consoles, meaning your game's save data, for new Ubisoft games when it launches on October 29th.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s post-launch expansions set sail for Ireland, Paris

In letting us pillage jolly old England, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla has already promised a tempting power fantasy. But Ubisoft's upcoming historical stab 'em up isn't stopping with just one country. Revealed in a new trailer outlining Valhalla's post-launch plans, it looks like Eivor will be setting sail for the Emerald Isle before taking an axe to Ubisoft's own Parisian front door in two major expansions,…

Big back tats and stripy ravens: the best bits of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s settlement

In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla you’ll be in charge of building a Settlement (with a capital S) called Ravensthorpe for your comrades, which’ll act as a base of operations and somewhere to relax post axe throw. When you first invade England you’ll start small with a few folks in tents, but as you progress and invest in its development, it’s meant to expand into a thriving…

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s PC requirements are way more demanding than AC Odyssey

Assassin's Creed Odyssey remains one of the most demanding games you can play on PC right now, but having taken a closer look at Ubisoft's recently released PC requirements for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, it looks like Eivor and the rest of their Viking pals will be sticking a much heavier boot into our PC's performance than even Kassandra's mighty Spartan kick. In short, they're proper…

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla digs into Viking skills, settlements, and PC specs

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is less than a month away now, so Ubisoft are flinging out details left and right. They've made a whole seven minute trailer of them, in fact. The new video talks more about Eivor's unlockable skills and customising your Viking settlement. They've also published the recommended PC specs today, so you can get a gander at those too.

Hot take: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s map needs more quest markers

“Less is more”. A classic advertising slogan isn’t it? I imagine a minimalist house with shelves that fold away discreetly and a glass coffee table that sits in an expanse of glossy white. They’re often marketed as an economic use of space that cuts out any unnecessary noise. I don’t disagree! If anything, I can see the appeal. But I prefer homes with a bit…

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla sings of conquest and conspiracy in new trailer

Given the subject, Assassin's Creed Valhalla probably didn't need to tell us why our merry band of Norsemen are off pillaging England. Who wouldn't? But it's gone and done so anyway with this week's new story trailer. As it turns out, there's a whole lotta brotherly love, royal squabbling and series-mandated Templar conspiracies rumbling underneath all that Anglo-bashing.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will launch a week early, November 10th

Surprise! Ubisoft just announced Assassin's Creed Valhalla will come out on November 10th, a week earlier than expected. The open-world Viking simulator was originally supposed to come out on November 17th, but the plan has changed after Microsoft today announced the shiny new Xbox Series X and S will launch on the 10th. For Xboxes, that makes Valhalla a launch title, but over here in…

Sorry, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla takes place after Ragnar Lothbrok is dead

Every time an Assassin's Creed setting is revealed, it feels like there's a flurry of speculation on which historical and legendary folks will show up for a cameo. Assassin's Creed Valhalla takes place at just about the right time to cross paths with legendary viking Ragnar Lothbrok so it seemed like perhaps we might arrange a meeting.Apparently not, according to Ubisoft's new gameplay video. You just…

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s soundtrack trailer is actually a female Eivor trailer

Ubisoft have published a new version of their cinematic trailer for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. It's mighty similar to the first one we saw, though this one includes music from the official soundtrack instead of modern rock. Oh, and it also swaps out bearded Eivor for not-bearded Eivor, the other half of of Valhalla's interchangeable protagonist.

You can pet and snuggle the cats in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

When Assassin's Creed Valhalla releases this November, it will put players in the shoes of Eivor - a big, tough Viking assassin, fully prepared to slaughter the English. Now, if that's not quite the selling point you were after, it might please you to know that this burly warrior will also be able to pet and snuggle all the cats they come across on their…

The next Ubisoft Forward showcase is coming in September

Don't look now, FakE3 isn't over just yet. We've still got the next Xbox event tomorrow and yet another Ubisoft Forward too. The latter, it turns out, will be coming in September. The news came during Ubisoft's quarterly earnings call. At what point do we stop calling it unofficial E3 and just admit we've bled into holiday reveals season? Never? Ah, swell.

Relax and raid to the sounds of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Out Of The North

Usually, when I'm working the news shift, I'll pop on one of those lo-fi youtube mixes to keep my ears distracted. Today, however, I'm thinking about trying something a little more Nordic. This week, a snippet of Assassin's Creed Valhalla's soundscape hit Spotify in the form of the Out Of The North EP, a seven-track mix of chanting, panpipes and warlike drums to study /…

Eivor from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla can be gay, have sex in public

Privately, with friends, I have referred to Assassin's Creed Valhalla as Assassin's Creed: Big Gay Blondes, which up until now was basically more cosmic ordering than it was based on any actual facts. However, having now had a three hour hands on with the game, I can confirm that on at least one occasion you can have drunk sex with a man, up against a…

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will let you switch between the female and male Eivor

Where Assassin's Creed Odyssey made players choose between playing as Kassandra or Alexios at the start and Syndicate missions often picked a Frye twin for you, Assassin's Creed Valhalla will let players switch between the female and male versions of our lone hero Eivor whenever we please. That mostly sounds useful for double-checking which voice actor you prefer and not having to start over if…

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will launch on November 17th

Ubisoft today announced a November 17th release date for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, the next in their open-world murder simulator series. The date leaked yesterday but shh. And pretending that we haven't been watching great reams of leaked Valhalla gameplay all week, they very proudly released a video showing and explaining more of the game. I suppose it'd be polite to act surprised by revelations of…

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla isn’t really an AC game, but it’s still great

Playing a big ol' chunk of Assassin's Creed Valhalla made me realise how much the series has changed since the first game in 2007. If you played Altaïr's first adventure and then skipped straight to Valhalla, where big buff blonde viking Eivor is running around 9th century England, you probably wouldn't realise they were in the same series. Assassin's Creed Valhalla doesn't feel like an…

New Assassin’s Creed Valhalla leaked video shows a mythological boss battle

Ahead of Ubisoft's big notE3 show this weekend, gameplay footage of Assassin's Creed Valhalla continues to leak. Following the half-hour of gameplay seen earlier this week, now someone's come up with seven minutes of the female Eivor in a boss battle against some sort of "demon goddess". It is, appropriately, well metal.
