Hunted: The Demon's Forge: The Video
Gametrailers has a new video interview with Maxx Kaufman, game director of Hunted: The Demon's Forge, which will be arriving on our personal computers early next year. Maxx is a bit raunchy. There's one part where he explains that "If I have my magic out, and my partner has their magic out..." And, well, I won't spoil the rest. Find out what happens when you and your partner have both taken your magic out after the jump.
I played some of Hunted at the Eurogamer Expo, actually. What did I think of it? WELL!
I thought it was okay. The chatter I'd heard about it being a fantasy Gears of War wasn't entirely unfounded, with clear similarities present not just in the co-op focus and art style, but in the way the characters move and control, too. Within that framework it is, however, doing its own thing. I enjoyed how the characters were often elbowed quietly into different roles, even if that was as simple as one of you taking point, or one of you providing ranged cover as the other beat up a skeleton.
But the game also felt a touch loose to me- hits getting landed on all sides without much warning or consequence, and attack animations appearing weighty in every respect but in their effect on the enemy. So, yeah. Maybe it really is a fantasy Gears of War. In any case, I enjoyed Gears of War, and I'm looking forward to Hunted letting me get my magic out.
