I was crushed by a big man with a hammer the other day. Or maybe he was swinging a giant piece of concrete on a stick, or an upended lamp post or something. It was hard to tell because of all the zombies. In apocalyptic parkour-em-up, Dying Light, these big undead lads like to knock you down with their massive weapons, at which point you’re swarmed by lesser zeds, who snatch and bite at you like a plate of chips. In this case, I died. This isn’t so bad, it’s just death. We’ve all died loads of times. But then Dying Light does something awful. Splashed across my game over screen: a big penalty message. “500 Survivor Points lost.” It has taken away my XP. Ugh.
