Rainbow Six Siege Castle: what he can do and how to use him
Reinforce the walls
As far as defensive operators go in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, Castle couldn't be simpler to understand conceptually. However there is a huge difference between being simple to understand conceptually and simple to use. This guide will show you the things you should, and shouldn't do with Castle, as well as go through his weapons and gadgets.

Castle's Weapon Loadouts
Castle’s guns are the M1014 semi-automatic shotgun and the UMP45 submachine gun. Both are viable options for Castle players, though the shotgun is definitely catered for more aggressive combatants. The sidearms are the 5.7 USG and the M45 Meusoc, of which the 5.7 USG has a much larger chamber for bullets.
Castle's Gadgets
Either one of Castle’s gadgets is situational, so the best thing would be to switch between the bulletproof cameras and the impact grenades depending on the strategy you want to use. Bulletproof cameras are better for those looking to stay put, while impact grenades help for those looking to aid the team more directly.
Castle's Skill
Simply put, the UTP1 - Universal Tactical Panel is a much sturdier barricade. You have three of them to use and they provide a huge amount more protection than a standard wooden barricade. They are vulnerable to more advanced explosive devices such as Thermite's special breach charges, as well as Hibana's mini-explosives.
Should I pick Castle?
Castle’s a great option for those who want to fortify the objective point. One cheeky thing you can do is use the impact grenade to blow a small hole to the side of a destructible wall, then use his panel to reinforce the doorway. The enemy probably won’t see it coming, nor your incoming hail of bullets or grenades. Just don't lock out your friendly operators in the preparation phase with the reinforced barricade.
Castle is not the only defensive operator that enhances a basic ability available to all operatives. Go to our main Rainbow Six: Siege operators guide has links to each individual operator, as well as an overview on the more universally useful ones and which ones beginners should consider learning.
