A Real Sneaky Bastard: Stealth Inc. 2 Released

Slip into your sneaking suit

Stealth Bastard, Curve Digital called it, and then it became Stealth Bastard Deluxe: Tactical Espionage Arsehole. Ian Nintendo and Ian Sony were less than fond of that name, I suppose, so now we're looking at the sequel being called boring old Stealth Inc. 2 [official site]. Ugh. If you can overcome your palpable disgust at a game not having swears in its name, choke down that bile and swallow that vomit, ooooh! Stealth Inc. 2 is out!

Our Adam really enjoyed the first sneaky puzzler, so more of that is probably a good thing.

Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones is on Steam for £10.99 and on GOG DRM-free for $15.89 (£10.50-ish, and in the UK at least comes with $0.90 in credit to balance regional pricing). Changes in the sequel include new equipment and a switch to a Metroidvania-style overworld.

To quote heavily from Adam's Wot I Think of ye olde Stealth Bastard Deluxe back in 2012:

"In an excellent year for the sneakier protagonist, Stealth Bastard Deluxe is a fine late entry. It’s a puzzler that uses light, sound and line of sight intelligently to complement rather than replace running, jumping and other standard platform fare. It also looks lovely and it’s immediately obvious what everything is for and how it works, which is hugely important when just about every element in a level factors into at least one stage of the solution."

Hopefully that holds true for the sequel. I have no idea if it does. I don't know. I haven't played it yet. Look, I've got a lot going on. You think ponds swim in themselves? Maybe Stealth Inc. 2 is rubbish. Maybe it's a melancholy platformer where piano music plays and a bored-sounding man blathers crap as you pick up collectibles. Though going by the trailer, that last part seems unlikely:
