Street Fighter V Enters Beta October 24
To run October 24-26, cross-platform
Capcom have announced the first Street Fighter V [official site] beta test on PC, to run October 24-25. And if you're sick of that PS4-owning mate who's been bragging on about getting console access to the beta two days prior, you'll be able to kick his virtual arse as the beta features cross-platform play.
By the time PC players can get their hands dirty, the full roster of Ken, Necalli, Vega and R.Mika will be playable, at the expense of Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy, Birdie, Nash and M.Bison - who were all involved in the console-exclusive beta #1. Ranked matchmaking is in, with equal skill pairing, for those of you of with competitive streaks, and Combined Leaderboards will facilitate cross-platform league leadership.
The last beta apparently introduced 'Fight Money' but had nothing in place that allowed players to spend it. Although non-transferable to future betas, or the game's final release, this beta adds purchasable options:
During the last beta, many players accumulated a lot of Fight Money, which they weren’t able to use. This changes as we’re testing out the ability to unlock items through fight money. Players can look forward to unlocking titles and maybe even the Kanzuki Estate stage.
Oh and just so we’re all on the same page, all things acquired (Fight Money, leaderboard status, titles) will only be available during this beta and will not carry over onto the next beta nor onto final release. The Fight Money pricing of items available to unlock and the rate that Fight Money is obtained are both still placeholder, and will not be indicative of the final product.
