Zwooom! Redout Brings F-Zero-y Hover-Racing

John mentioning MegaRace reminds me: we never post about Redout [official site] being out. Redout is a futuristic hover-racing game inspired by games like F-Zero and Wipeout, with futurecars zipping around wild futuretracks. And it came out two weeks ago. Whoops. “I played exactly one race of it and it is both pretty and fast,” our Graham tells me, which is reason enough to bring it up now. Observe, futurecars:

Hyperdrive Massacre Out Today, Has Space Cars

Hyperdrive Massacre [official site] is a game that takes a classic deathmatch scenario, adds the gravity-defying physics of Asteroids, fuses it with the playful rivalry/cut-throat hatred wrought by local multiplayer, and frames the explosive array in a Hotline Miami-esque, 80s video nasty-style package.

It’s out today, so you’ve still plenty of time to gather your mates/worst enemies round your PC.

This Game’s Name Has A Different Meaning When Red:Out

One day there’s going to be a videogame inspired by Wipeout and it’s going to a turn-based, ragdoll physics obstacle course inspired by the TV show of the same name. Until then we’ll have to settle for those reviving the future-racing of the beloved PlayStation 1-era game, which is where Red:Out‘s allegiances lie. It’s being made by a small team of Italian developers and there’s a couple of pre-alpha videos below which will let you know exactly how close it veers to the source material.
