Feature: Uni-Verse
It’s tough to pin down exactly what sort of game RymdResa [official site] is going to be when it comes out next month, not least because it keeps changing as you go through. Split into three chapters, each slightly varying on the last, it’s a 2D space exploration/thruster-based arcade game, with poetry. You know the sort. I've had my hands on some code.
Valve have pushed another 50 games through the Steam Greenlight system, which by my count finally pushes us over the limit. There are now officially too many games. Please cease and desist all game manufacturing immediately. This is not a drill.
Finally! A space game whose title doesn't start with the word "Star". RymdResa is a "procedurally generated poetic space odyssey" made by two-person Swedish indie team Morgondag. It's a space exploration game without combat, where "solitude of space" is listed as one of the features. It's up on Steam Greenlight and there's an initially-ponderous-but-eventually-interesting trailer below.
