The Walking Dead: Michonne Starts This Month

I’ve only a passing familiarity with Michonne from seeing a bit of the Walking Dead TV show, where she is one of the few competent characters, but I broadly understand she is, as the kids say, ‘pretty dang cool’. Cool enough to get her own spin-off game and be voiced by Orange Is the New Black‘s Poussey, certainly.

The Walking Dead: Michonne [official site] will begin on Tuesday, February 23rd, Telltale announced today. All three episodes will run you $15 together.

Minecraft: Story Mode Ep 4 Exploring Far Lands Today

I’m not much of a Minecrafter myself, but as a fan of the work of algorithms I was fascinated by the idea of the brick ‘em up’s old Far Lands – distant, distant places where the world generation and physics started to go wonky and create alien landscapes (because numbers). So I’m pretty interested to see the concept pop up in Telltale’s episodic adventure Minecraft: Story Mode [official site] with Episode 4: A Block and a Hard Place, which is due out today. Have a peek in this trailer:

Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Michonne Starts February

Now that Telltale have wrapped up the first series of Tales From the Borderlands and Game of Thrones, it’s time to show a little more of what’s coming next. Last night they announced a Batman series, but also showed off something sooner. A wee trailer for The Walking Dead: Michonne [official site] shows that the three-episode miniseries, which fills in the story during a gap in the comics, will start in February 2016. Oh, and Michonne won’t be voiced by her TV actor, but is having words put in her mouth by the excellent Samira Wiley – Poussey from Orange Is the New Black.

Telltale’s Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 3 Out Today

Crumbs, Telltale Games aren’t half barrelling through their block-oriented episodic adventure Minecraft: Story Mode [official site]. While their recently-concluded Borderlands and Game of Thrones series would go two, three, even four months between episodes, Minecraft’s dropped three episodes within six weeks. Hark at you, Minecrafters, aren’t you so flipping special! Episode 3: The Last Place You Look is out later today, and this here collection of moving pictures (it’s even a talkie!) show a little of what’s to come:

Telltale’s Game Of Thrones Second Season Confirmed

Coo, how about that Game of Thrones [official site] finale? And that thing with… The Ice Dragon? Was there actually an ice dragon or was episode 6’s title metaphorical? Look, I haven’t played it. Any spoilers in this post are the result of stupid stumbling luck. Besides, that finale’s still only part-way through Telltale’s grimdark fantasy choice ‘em up. The developers had mentioned before that their deal was for several games, but it’s nice to have confirmation: yes, they are still planning to make another season.

Game Of Thrones Trailer Heralds Today’s Conclusion

Telltale are releasing the sixth and final chapter of their Game of Thrones [official site] episodic adventure later today. They’re presumably also planning to hunt you down, kick in your door, flay your PC, and impale its severed screen on a lamp post outside your home then make a necklace out your shattered mouse. Ahead of the release of ‘The Ice Dragon’ in a few hours, Telltale have released a trailer recapping a few of the choices players have faced, and teasing what’s to come. Spoilers follow, obviously?

Telltale’s Game Of Thrones Finale Deets & Pics

All men must die, so I’m told, and I can’t imagine the finale of Telltale’s episodic Game of Thrones [official site] will be without a few tears, not to mention murders and mutilations. Unusually, Telltale announced its release date – November 17th – a month in advance, a break from their usual habit of muttering episode dates a few days before they’re out. They didn’t have much of anything to say about the ep, mind, so today they’ve followed up with a few words and pictures from ‘The Ice Dragon’.

Cor, That Was Fast! Minecraft: Story Mode Ep 2 Today

The second chapter of Telltale’s Minecraft: Story Mode [official site] is out today, which is a little surprising considering the spin-off episodic storyventure game only started a fortnight ago, on October 13th. Telltale’s last few series have gone two, three, even four months between the first and second episodes, so coo-ee, aren’t you fancy?

I’m not playing Minecraft: Story Mode myself and am not sure who it’s even being made for but, here, I can tell you some words about Episode 2 and show you some moving pictures (a talkie) with a few snippets:

Comfy? Telltale’s Game Of Thrones Ends In November

Speaking of conclusions to episodic adventure games made by Telltale, the devs have announced that their television murderfest spin-off Game of Thrones [official site] will wrap up on November 17th with its sixth episode, titled ‘The Ice Dragon’. That makes this post a bit like going back to past and changing that other post so in the future we have a post about Game of Thrones rather than Tales from the Borderlands but oh no what is this I’m dissolving gosh meddling with time is a rum do and no mistake!

Tales From The Borderlands Episode 5 Is Out

It seems unlikely and pretty silly that two developers would release the fifth and final chapters of their respective episodic adventure games on the exact same day, but what do you want them to do – jump in a time-travelling car and return back from the future with a copy of The Video Game Almanac 2015?

By which I mean I’m still determined to win Most Forced Back To The Future Reference today, and also that I didn’t play Episode 5 of Gearbox’s pretty fun Tales from the Borderland [official site] last night because I was instead playing the conclusion to Dontnod’s wonderful Life Is Strange. But TFTB is now finished too.
