Don’t expect more of Telltale’s Wolfamongus or Borderlands any time soon

Update: Well ho ho ho don’t I look a fool. Telltale have since announced a new season of Wolfamongus, along with more Batman and The Walking Dead. But no mention of new Borderlands, sadly.

If you’ve been hoping to hear more from Telltale Games about new seasons of The Wolf Among Us and Tales from the Borderlands, don’t hold your breath unless you’re willing to pass out over and over for an indefinite — and possibly endless — time. After That There Internet You Get Nowadays became excited about a marketing hint internauts took to be about an impending Wolfamongus announcement, Telltale marketman Job Stauffer stepped in with a hose to cool everyone’s jets. Nope, it sounds like Telltale won’t release me of either any time soon (if they ever do?). Read the rest of this entry »

Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy continues in Ep 2 today

The second episode of Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy arrives later today, and it seems it’ll bring a fork in the spaceroad. A trailer heralding the launch gabs about choosing between a path digging into Rocket’s path and one going into Gamora’s family as the gang of spacefriends investigate a doohickey. Do you love your spacesister or your dogbrother more? I’m sure they’ll remember that. They’ll probably allude to it over Spacechristmas dinner then slowly build up to a meltdown during the Spacechristmas Doctor Who. Anyway! Have a look in the trailer: Read the rest of this entry »

Telltale’s The Walking Dead [official site] comes back into our lives after just over two years away, but is it a welcome return with fresh water and bandages, or a shambling wreck of fetid corpse. It’s the second one. It’s fucking awful. Here’s wot I think: Read the rest of this entry »

Telltale Games will start ooga-chakaing next year with an episodic Guardians of the Galaxy game but they’ve a little BLURP!ing and ZLOTT!ing to finish up first. Minecraft: Story Mode episode 1 free on Steam for a bit

You’re still ‘down with’ teenagers, of course you are. Them with their interest in skateboarding and Ant & Dec and their cool lingo like ‘cowabunga’, ‘necking’ and ‘jam that with a slice of ham’. You’ll impress all your teen relatives at the coming month of festivities, I’m sure. But what about the younger ones? Do preteens still calling good things ‘well Cbeebies’ and bad things ‘total Dipsy’? What do they even like? What will they think of you? What will they think of old, old you? It’s fine: they’re mostly into Minecraft and MDMA. I can help you with the former, at least. Look: the first episode of Telltale’s Minecraft: Story Mode [official site] is free for a bit. They are Groot: Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy?

It is the year 2801. A man weeps as he is forced to play Last of the Summer Wine: A Telltale Adventure. It is the last remaining hitherto unadapted license in the world. He sobs as he remembers Supermarket Sweep: A Telltale Adventure and the living hell that was Fifty Shades of Grey: A Telltale Adventure. A small scream looses his lips as he recalls the day his own husband became a Telltale Adventure. He knows it is only a matter of time before he, too, is adapted. If he can just make Last Of The Summer Wine: A Telltale Adventure – Episode 5: Compo Washes His Hat last as long as he can, he can defer his own terrible fate. Maybe three hours, maybe four. Then he, the last human, will become an episodic narrative adventure game.

If only he – and the rest of humanity – had seen this coming, back in those innocent days of 2016, when Guardians Of The Galaxy: A Telltale Adventure was leaked. Read the rest of this entry »

Bap! Bonk! Zzonk! Telltale’s Batman Ep 3 Out Today

The third instalment of Telltale’s episodic Batman [official site] is thunking, vronking, and zgruppping its way out this afternoon. This is the mid-way point of the season and, from what I’ve seen (I’ve not had a bash myself), it looks like the Batstory is potentially branching a bit from established Batcanon of Batbackbatstories. I’d been concerned that the Batburden of Bathistory might Batstifle Telltale’s whole ‘Batchoices and Batconsequences’ Batdealio, Batbut maybe Batthis will Batbe Bata Batinteresting Batone. Here, have a peek in this launch trailer for Episode 3: New World Order.
