Assassin’s Creed Rogue PC Release Date Announced

Ubisoft have some strange habits, one of which is setting two teams to make two games in the same series simultaneously – one destined for next-gen consoles and one for the ‘previous’ generation of consoles. Even more strange, the presumably lower budget latter often turns out to be better, as is reportedly the case with Assassin’s Creed Rogue [official site]. Where Assassin’s Creed Unity‘s Parisian streets were littered with bugs, Rogue more simply followed up on the ship captaining of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Now we know when it’s finally coming to PC: March 10th.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue Gets A Leapy Launch Trailer

The aftermath of the pillowfight was surprisingly intenseThere’s a new Assassin’s Creed Rogue trailer. Technically it’s a launch trailer but only in the sense that consoles exist and are getting a timed exclusive window in which their owners can gad about on rooftops and enjoy the power of eagles before the game saunters over to PC in early 2015 and is all:

“Hey you! Fancy some overly showy leaping and boats also?”

Scallywags! Assassin’s Creed Rogue Announced For PC

Oh, who even pretends to understand the whims and fancies of Ubisoft any more? By now, I assume their marketing plans follow prophecies and visions that CEO Yves Guillemot receives from a golden space apple alien holodeck cybergene memoryspine. There he is, in his office, rotating painting slices, sliding blocks, guessing passwords, until it finally clicks and summons a Roman space god.

“Don’t announce a PC version of Assassin’s Creed Rogue,” Jupiter commands. “Not at first. No, wait two months then casually mention it when you release some trailer or other.” Done and done!
