Supreme Ruler The Great War now warring supremely

The revival of vintage strategy game Supreme Ruler continues today with the launch of Supreme Ruler The Great War [official site]. After reviving the ’80s strategy game with Supreme Ruler 2010 then jumping across history with 2020, the Cold War, and 1936, then rolling them all together in Supreme Ruler Ultimate, developers Battlegoat Studios are now visiting the war that actually, really, in fact, wasn’t that great. Measuring Up: Supreme Ruler 1936

Of all the times to be in charge of one of the world’s nations, 1936 has to be one of the worst. Terrible things are afoot, and even the most noble decisions will likely lead to destruction and death. A terrifying time to be a leader in reality but a perfect setting for “a real time geopolitical strategy game” and that’s precisely what Supreme Ruler 1936 is. Rockin’: Supreme Ruler: Cold War Footage

Moscow, yesterday.
Supreme Ruler: Cold War, the latest in the Supreme Ruler series of strategy games, is an extremely large and intricate Cold War-era war title, featuring lots of diplomacy and a global conflict map which can be played as a giant sandbox game of domination. Heavy stuff. So it’s admirable to see its developers, Battlegoat Studios, sexing things up with a trailer full of repurposed newsreel footage and a rock-n-rolling soundtrack. Diplomacy! Menu-sliders! Tiny tanks moving along roads! Sexxxxyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Ahem. It could be good. No release date yet, but “Q2” this year, for sure.

Even Supremier: Supreme Ruler 2020 Gold Demo

A grower not a shower, presumably

I’ve been meaning to have a proper look at Supreme Ruler 2020 all year. It clearly doesn’t care, and its splendidly-named developers Battlegoat have marched on to a Gold edition to be released on the 18th. To celebrate that coming day, they’ve released a whole new demo, which you can get from here. Can’t find a trailer for the gold edition especially, but here’s one for the last add-on pack we’ve never posted before. Go post! Go post! GO POST!
