Best PC gaming deals of the week

Another week has gone by and with it came the news of Destiny 2, a Witcher TV show and a whole stack of new gaming deals to check out. Conveniently enough, I’m here to take a closer look at that last thing and it’s about the only thing that’s keeping me from playing more Prey. Without further hesitation, let’s go ahead and check out what’s on offer this week, shall we?

As usual, we’ve got deals that’ll work in the UK, deals that’ll work in the US and some deals that will work in both the UK and US, as well as presumably many other places. Let’s get started.

Dystopia Simulator Beholder Out Just in the Nick of Time

In a totalitarian society you never know who’s working for the state. It could be a neighbor, family member, or in the case of Beholder [official site], your landlord. Warm Lamp Games say their surveillance ’em up, which launched this week, is inspired by “the oppressive laws introduced by the Russian Government,” and it certainly gives at least a grim portrayal of life under the KGB or Gestapo. Demo Of Surveillance Game Beholder Now Available

The games they are a-changin’. A beholder used to be “a floating orb of flesh with a large mouth, single central eye, and many smaller eyestalks on top with deadly magical powers”. You’d find them in dungeons, hovering about and making a nuisance of themselves. 2016’s Beholder [official site] is a man called Carl and he’s a whole lot creepier than a floating testocular monster:

“As Carl, the landlord of an apartment house employed to serve the state…your daily routine is simply to make the property attractive to its tenants. Little do they know that you have ulterior motives and will use any means available to observe, whether it’s spying, eavesdropping or wiretapping as you build tenant profiles…”
