Dead Rising 4 coming to Windows 7 and Steam in March

The absurd Windows 10 exclusivity of Dead Rising 4 [official site] will end on March 14th, Capcom have announced. It’ll arrive on Steam and yes, for Windows 7 too. Dead Rising 4 isn’t great, sure, but if you want to mow down zombie hordes while dressed as Street Fighter’s Cammy you might still fancy it. Read the rest of this entry »

Dead Rising 4 adding higher difficulty, Street Fighter gear

Tougher new difficulty modes are coming to Dead Rising 4 [official site] next week, Capcom have announced. Low difficulty undercutting purpose and tension was one of Adam’s big complaints in his review of the open-world zombiekiller — but not his only complaint — so this sounds a promising addition. Over on the wackier side of whacking walking corpses, Monday’s update will also bring five Street Fighter outfits for Frank. I must say, I am surprised by how perky his buttocks look in that ↑ Cammy costume. Read the rest of this entry »

Dead Rising 4 shambles onto Windows 10

Dead Rising 4 [official site], the latest in Capcom’s open-world series about smashing zombies with wacky weapons, has arrived on Windows 10. Photojournalist Frank West finds himself in another mall overrun with zombies, an outbreak in the aftermath of a Black Friday outbreak when everything is all Christmassed-up and hey wait isn’t that the idea behind The Division? I’d read Tom Clancy’s take on killing zombies in a mall.

“Frank gripped the six-foot candy cane in both hands. 105 kilograms of Heckler & Koch’s finest festive hardware. If blunt force didn’t kill the zombies, the 400,000 calories he wielded would surely give a sugar high to burst their brains.”

Dead Rising 4 unveils separate co-op missions

With Christmas fast approaching and the seasonal zombie nightmare of Dead Rising 4 [official site] coming even sooner, Capcom have revealed more of its four-player co-op. Unlike earlier Dead Rising games, which supported co-op in the campaign, 4 is splitting co-op off into a separate mode with separate missions. I’d rather scamper freely across the winter wonderland with my pals, frolicking and playing as we please, but I suppose I should know by now that Christmas is a time for schedule-driven, purposeful, strict, enforced fun with no room for deviation. Finish your co-op and get the jumper your gave you on in time for the Christmas Doctor Who, you hooligans. Read the rest of this entry »

Grrg Argg Gurg: Dead Rising 4 Announced For Win 10

Dead Rising 4 may not be a surprise for folks who keep their ears pressed to the rumour mill (watch yourself: the millstone will tear that right off), but now it’s official. Capcom’s silly open-world zombie monstermash is coming this holiday season, bringing back original protagonist Frank West and even the original setting of a mall in Willamette. Along with silly hats and weapons, it sounds like it’s going a bit Saints Row 4-y with supersuits. I can’t say I object to superpower silliness.

Here, check out the announcement trailer:

Dead Rising 3 Goes Apocalyptic With DLC

Nick Ramos here, giving his reaction to the term 'pc master race'

Vvvwwwaaaarrrrmmm. That’s the Hans Zimmer style combo zombie warning/incoming news alarm! It also doubles as a word to describe how hot it currently is on the British Isles. It’s here to remind us that not only is Dead Rising 3 making the jump to PC, but has now been renamed to the hopefully exaggerating APOCALYPSE EDITION (emphasis writer’s own). And what do subtitles mean, kids? Additional content, that’s what, you little toerags. This version will be shipping with the four ‘Untold Stories of Los Perdidos’ episodes that were released as DLC on Xbox. Each puts you in control of a different character from the main game and shows how they ended up where Nick, the main character, met them.

Ex-Xbone-Exclusive: Dead Rising 3 On PC This Summer

Delightful pre-E3 news has just arrived from the Microsoft bunker. The Kinect will be attached to all future versions of Windows 8, which will in turn be attached to every PC in the world through the magic of Cloud-based infiltration. Empty your recycle bin by performing complex semaphore! Attempt to discover the start button by cartwheeling around your front room, or scratching your head and rubbing your tummy at the same time!

That would be horrible. Thankfully it’s a load of old cobblers. The news that has emerged in the form of an excitable trailer is that preposterous zombie smasher Dead Rising 3 is coming to your PC this summer. You already knew that though because of the headline.
