Swedish Yarn golem Yarny (surname: Not Sackboy) is the kind of protagonist I can get behind. The sort of sugar-sweet hero that could make even this heart of ice and rock soften and beat once more. You first caught a glimpse of him a couple months back during E3 when developer ColdWood Interactive first announced it was working on a quaint little puzzle-platformer named Unravel [official site].

Unravel: A Yarny Puzzle-Platformer Published By EA

Sandwiched between booming music, screeching wheels, and blasting guns in EA’s E3 show was a quiet and cutesy platformer named Unravel [official site], which they’ll be publishing. It stars a little doll of red yarn (named Yarny) who’s adventuring through the Swedish countryside, solving physics-based puzzles by unspooling himself to swing across gaps, fly kites, hook onto fish, and so on. It’s a bit like life, yeah?

That’s going to end in tragedy, isn’t it? Just imagine his little yarny face when only a few winds are left on his wire bones. Heartbreaking. Have a look:
