Feature: The kids are alright

Children Of Morta review

Games about families are pretty uncommon. Ignoring the state of games about dads (because they're about dads, not families, which is sort of accidentally on point), can you even name the parents of more than a couple of game characters? Tale of Ronin explores the life and death of samurai

Less than twenty seconds into the trailer for Tale of Ronin [official site], I nodded my head and made a note: "The Banner Saga but Bushido". I made another note at the end, which is even simpler: "HANDSOME". The first note is speculative. I don't know enough about Tale of Ronin to say whether or not it'll be similar to Stoic's series, but the scenes…

Family Feuds: Children Of Morta Launches Kickstarter

The family that slays together, stays together - or at least falls to gribbly enemies together. "Narrative-based roguelike" Children of Morta perked Adam's interest late last year with its detail-packed pixel animations, and it's now launched on Kickstarter. At the time of writing it's a promising third torwards its funding goal, and the pitch video has plenty more lush animations and hack-and-slash combat.
