Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet

The latest in a series of tie-in games based on Sword Art Online (a popular novel/anime series about a brooding teen’s adventures in a VR MMO), Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet has rolled out onto PC today, worldwide and alongside the console version.

Based on the second season of the anime, which traded up its sword & sorcery MMO setting for an action-oriented sci-fi game, Fatal Bullet promises light party-based JRPG adventuring paired with a shooter-style combat engine not entirely unlike Mass Effect.

Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul Arrives On PC

The Saint Seiya series has stood the test of time. The manga series that started it all has since spawned an animated series, numerous video games, and even musicals over three decades. Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul Knights Of The Zodiac [official site], the latest game and the first to get an English PC release, has arrived on Steam and brings with it 40 stages, 72 playable characters, and 144 costumes. Wax On, Wax Off – Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul Announced

What is the cloth that has everyone so excited in Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul [Japanese site]? “The Cloth granted by destiny”, characters call it, “the God Cloth”, and “the ultimate Cloth”. I’m imagining a beautiful fabric, perhaps the ghostly batique owl quilting fabric I bought on a road trip through North California (“You will never do anything with that,” Pip scolded me). John, as a parent dealing with all manner of unsightly fluids, has imagined the game’s about battling stains with rags.

All we can say for certain is what Namco Bandai have announced: the fighting game sequel is coming via Steam this autumn.

Powering Up: Dragon Ball Xenoverse Coming To PC

Hey, hey! Calm down!

Dragon Ball, as I understand it, is about about toddlers getting so worked up they spontaneously age 14 years and skip straight to that teenage phase of growing their hair out and getting into fights that are mostly posing and yelling. This may not be wholly accurate. I mostly know it from years of seeing PlanetQuake plastered with Dragon Ball mods, Dragon Ball player models, and Dragon Ball usernames. But because of that, I always expect to see the anime and manga’s video games on PC.

Hey, look: Dragon Ball Xenoverse will come to PC. You’ll get to create your own angry teenager.
