Wot I Think – Fallout 4: Automatron

It’s the first Fallout 4 [official site] DLC, in which you get to build your own robot army and turn another Wastelander’s into just so much scrap metal. But is it worth checking out, on its own or as the initial taste of the Season Pass? Here’s Wot I Think…

The stranger scratched a radioactive welt on his arm. It oozed pleasantly in the Commonwealth sun. He sat back with his newly scavenged comic, content to just let the scorching heat bounce off him. But then, a sound. A slow, meaningful, scraping sound. Immediately, he was ready, pistol in hand, staring into the distance at the traveller, naked save for some unflattering underpants, wincing as he dragged a large bag of crap across the wasteland and back towards that new town out by the old vault. The stranger gestured to the bag, full of ceramic and rubber and heavy plate.

Fallout 4 DLC Automatron Is Out Next Week, Trailer Here

I’ve yet to break the seal on Fallout 4‘s wrapper, so the thought that the game is getting even bigger is as much intimidating to me as it is exciting. Still, it is exciting, since the first DLC, Automatron, adds the ability to build and modify your robot companions to suit your taste and play style. The first trailer for Fallout 4: Automatron has just been released and you can watch it below ahead of its release, which we now know is March 22nd.

Robots, Pets And Unsafe Harbours: Fallout 4 DLC

Bethesda have just announced the first three expansions for Fallout 4 [official site]. They’re not far enough, coming March, April and May, and they include new adventures, new settlement customisation options, new quests facilities to capture and train creatures, and “the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created”. First out will be Automatron, which will allow you to build customised robot companions, then there’s the Wasteland Workshop in April which concentrates on settlements and creature taming, and finally Far Harbor will include an entirely new island area. Beyond these, Bethesda have expanded their DLC plans enough to raise the season pass price.
