Second Act: Final Fantasy XIII-2 Released

RESOLVE.

As a decent human being, I’ll warn you in advance if I intend to give you a clip round the ear (though I’m not decent enough to not whack you). If I were making you a cake, though, I’d wait until it was baked and cooled to tell you. What this clever intro I feel too ill today to pull off would lead towards is: I’ve mentioned before that RPG sequel-sequel Final Fantasy XIII-2 was due a PC release on December 11th, but now it’s actually out so you can actually play it. That would’ve been so slick and clever. I was working on a mnemonic I’m sure you’d all use daily and everything.

Resolution Resolutions For Final Fantasy XIII And XIII-2

Fighting!

Final Fantasy XIII was a disappointing PC port, suffering that rare-yet-still-too-common problem of only running at a 1280×720 resolution. Gawd bless modders, as Dark Souls and Deadly Premonition saviour Durante released a tool to stick a knife inside the game’s workings and jiggle it around, opening up higher resolutions, but it’s a shame he was even needed. Square Enix have noted the discontent, and promised that Final Fantasy XIII-2 will support other resolutions when it launches on December 11th. They also plan to patch resolution options into FF13 that month.

Lies, Lies, Lies: Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy Coming To PC

Just look at that guy.

If a joke’s worth telling, it’s worth grinding into dust. I don’t know whether I’m referring to Square Enix still using the name ‘Final Fantasy’ after dozens of games or to me dragging this hoary old jape out every year. “Wake up, joke!” I yell, kicking it in the side. “It’s time for me to tell you.” The joke mutters and closes its eyes tighter. “I will tell you and you will be hilarious just like you always are!” I insist.

Did I mention that Square Enix are porting the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy to PC? Oh. Well, they are.
