Mod Yays! Don’t Starve & Gateways On Steam Workshop

The Steam Workshop is an interesting barometer of a game’s post-release success. Strike Suit Zero’s Steam Workshop has been live for a few months, but it only has eight lonely items populating its server space, and pointing it out is making me feel quite awkward. Erm, moving on. Don’t Starve’s new Workshop is a lot healthier. The cutest survival game you ever did see recently updated, adding a new level, more creatures, new items, and more importantly mod tools for players to do whatever they want to the game. And while I’m espousing indie modding, the lovely Gateways has also just added Workshop support, too.

Gateways Editor Is Now Open

I wuvv oo!
John’s shameless kissy-face act towards Gateways has finally ceased, because he is a married man, and because the United Britons of Parliament rejected his plea to allow civil unions between people and games. His winkie tattoo did not convince them of the merit of his argument. He’s also on holiday and without internet, so I can post this without risk of his passions being inflamed and Gateways finally contacting The Equalizer. Thrown Open Wide: Gateways Released On Steam & Desura

Just a quick note to say that one of my favourite games of this year, Gateways, is now out on Steam and Desura. You can see the trailer here, and find out why I keep banging on about it here. It’s £3.19 on Steam, but only £2.39 on Desura. By my maths, that makes the Desura version… (divided by 2)… (carry the 7)… (reverse the integral)… cheaper!

Portaling Onto Steam And Desure Next Week: Gateways

The absolutely fantastic Gateways is due to arrive on Steam and Desura (and something called XBLIG) on the 13th. Which is splendid news, as far more people need to play one of the best puzzle games in absolutely ages. And if you need more convincing, there’s a brand new trailer for it below.

3/5ths Of RPS, Quasi-Live On Stage

Nathan had a good excuse what with being American, but why Jim wasn't involved is AN ETERNAL MYSTERY

Rezzed had many highlights, and it’s faintly possible that insane people believe watching me try to construct a little man out of chewing gum and my own spittle was one of them. This was just one of the many strange and possibly dangerous tasks in the live trial by that was the 5th International Indie Mudwrestling Championships, an on-stage panel show hosted with golden-voiced aplomb by Mr John Walker. Adam Smith and I headed up a team respectively, with ample support from indie devs Andrew J Smith of Spilt Milk and Dave Johnston of Smudged Cat. Surprisingly, at no juncture were we booed off stage. We had a live pun thread, Adam and I almost exploded, we listened to the Donkey Kong rap and John kept forgetting that RPS only covers PC games.

Watch our mouths move and words come out of them, sometimes followed by the reassuring sound of laughter, below.
