Steam Charts: Last Week’s Best-Sellers Today

Cos this stuff comes up in comments most every time I run one of these: these charts depict the top ten best-selling games on Steam as accumulated over the week leading up to Sunday just gone. They are not what are the top ten best-selling games at this moment in time, as seen on the front-page of Steam and which are invariably a little different. They come from this here Valve RSS feed. If there is any massaging of figures or weighing of e.g. revenue earned vs copies sold then I do not know of it, but neither can I say for certain that there is not. This is, however, pretty much all that Steam ever lets slip about what’s going on, though you can look to the guesstimates on Steam Spy if you want to try and drill down further into actual figures.

So: Steam’s ten biggest games last week. Well, nine and a half. Deus Ex has been dethroned already.

Monster Munch: God Eater 2 Released On PC

It seems unlikely that Capcom will release a proper Monster Hunter game on PC any time soon but hey, we do now have an attractive Monstalike option. God Eater 2 Rage Burst [official site], a Monstalike action-RPG from Bandai Namco, came out today and they’re throwing in a revamp of the first game too.

Hungry Hungry Hunters: God Eater Coming To PC

Seeing news that God Eater 2 Rage Burst [official site] is coming to PC made me think “Amazing! Excellent! Yep yes, I will definitely write about that. What’s God Eater 2 Rage Burst?” A Japanese action-RPG about monster hunters who fight weird life-assimilating mutants or something, is the slightly disappointing answer. Bandai Namco first released it in Japan a while back, and today announced they’re now bringing westward – and to PC too. They are being a lot better with PC nowadays, that lot. They’re also bringing the first game over, in its fancied-up God Eater Resurrection form.
