Hearthstone’s spooky Witchwood expansion is out now


We like to joke about Valve Time, but Blizzard don’t seem to care about┬átemporal flow as a concept. First an overhaul for Warcraft III┬ájust yesterday, and now a clearly Halloween-themed expansion for Hearthstone in the middle of April. Still, The Witchwood seems a good enough excuse as any to sling some cards, splat some monsters and delve some dungeons, as it’s out now… mostly.

Hearthstone enters The Witchwood next week

If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise: daffodils should still be flowering. Highly recommended. But if you want to go down to The Witchwood, you’ll need to wait until Thursday, because Blizzard have announced that’s when they’ll launch that new Hearthstone expansion. Venturing into the spooky ooky forest outside the Worgen city of Gilneas, The Witchwood will add 135 new cards. Expect witches, wolfmen, wisps, and other weird and alliterative woodlife. Hearthstone’s next expansion is off to The Witchwood


If you go down to the woods tonight, you’re sure of a big surprise. Spoilers: the surprise is the announcement of Hearthstone‘s Witchwood expansion, which will add 135 new cards and a new singleplayer adventure mode with a similar format to Dungeon Run from Kobolds and Catacombs. Monster Hunt mode will have you hunting monsters in the titular Witchwood, choosing new cards as you go along.
