Hearthstone Patch Heralds Expansion With Rebalancing

Hearthstone [official site] will this week get its third expansion, Whispers of the Old Gods, but big changes beyond 134 new cards are already here. Patch 5.0.0 launched over the weekend, updating Blizzard’s free-to-play card game with a heap of balance changes and preparing for the new ‘Standard’ format which only allows cards from a smaller pool. Also, Blizzard have now revealed all of Whispers of the Old Gods’ new cards. They’ve been busy, that lot.

Hearthstone: Whispers Of The Old Gods Rises Next Week

You’ll have to speak up, dearie. The gods are old, so very old, and they’re not what they used to be. It’s going to have taken them two years and several expansions to arrive in Hearthstone [official site], and none of you thought to check up on them or see if they needed help. I hope you feel guilty, Hearthstoners. Well, C’Thun, Yogg-Saron, Y’Shaarj, N’Zoth, and all their chums will arrive with the free-to-play card game’s third expansion next week, Blizzard have announced. I doubt those oldies will be too pleased.

Hearthstone: Whispers Of The Old Gods Announced

Set to release in “late April/early May”, Blizzard have announced Whispers of the Old Gods as the next Hearthstone [official site] expansion. The update is the first of 2016 and not only promises 134 new cards, but also brings with it some major format changes designed to make competitive play more accessible to newbies, among other things.
