Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls hits PC

“Who won E3?” the pundits demand to know. And who lost? Who stood triumphant and who fell? Who was split in twain and who feasted upon their entrails? Whose blood nourishes the sacred oak and who drinks from their skull? We don’t have to do this.

Look at the JRPG series Hyperdimension Neptunia, where goddesses representing the main gaming systems set their differences aside and end the console wars. Or look at Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls [official site], a spin-off which crosses Neptunia over with an anime-o-novel world of Sega console schoolgirl goddess avatars – the Sega Hard Girls. We could learn so much from them. Read the rest of this entry »

Megadimension Neptunia VII Brings Long Name To PC

Japanese RPGs have the most wonderfully/needlessly long-winded, tongue-twisting names, don’t you think? Following its western debut on consoles earlier this year, Megadimension Neptunia VII [official site] is the latest to arrive on PC, and belongs to the Hyperdimension Neptunia series – a collection of Japanese role-player-meets strategy ’em ups best known for their vibrant, combo-laden, fast and furious fare. That was all a bit matter of fact, wasn’t it? Phew! I wasn’t sure I could make it through an entire paragraph without breaking into sympathetic melodrama. But I did!

Romance-o-battle: Agarest 2 Ported To PC

Do you think love can bloom even on a battlefield?

War! Death! Killing! Murder! Mutilation! Kill! Kill! Kill! But why? What are we killing for? Why are we to jam and push bullets through eyesockets? Love, of course. It always comes down to love. Love of a person, a country, an idea, or sometimes a love of ourselves so toxic we must burst every other living body. The JRPG series Agarest is a bit more open about this: you woo hot anime babes while fighting monsters. Idea Factory’s first two Agarest games arrived on Steam earlier this year, ported over from consoles, and now the third’s coming too.
