League Of Legends: The Best Of IEM Katowice

IEM (Intel Extreme Masters) is noteworthy in the professional League of Legends [official site] calendar as it’s one of the last international tournaments not to fall under Riot’s own umbrella. Katowice is the IEM World Championship; a culminating event that takes the winners from a year’s worth of IEM tournaments as well as selected teams who are invited from the more popular regions. With $100,000 at stake there’s plenty to play for.

AnyKey: ESL, Intel Announce Esports Diversity Initiative

Esports company ESL [official site] have partnered with Intel to found the AnyKey organisation. The group’s aim is “supporting diversity in and around the competitive gaming industry.”

ESL goes on to add:

“The organisation’s core goal is to create more opportunities and inclusive spaces, whilst advocating for the underrepresented members of competitive communities, such as women, LGBTQ participants, and people of colour.”
