Darksiders Warmastered Edition out now, free for owners of the original

Darksiders: Warmastered Edition [official site] is a terrible name. It’s the remastered edition of the original Darksiders, that brawly third-person action game about apocalyptic horse-fancier War, so I can see their thinking. But… no.

It is now out on PC though which is nice, and owners of the original can upgrade for free.

Darksiders Revamped In ‘Warmastered Edition’

2010’s Apocalyptic (that’s with a capital A) hack ‘n’ slash Darksiders [official site] is being revamped for a prettied-up re-release, like its sequel already has. And like the sequel with its ‘Deathinitive Edition’ subtitle, Darksiders is picking up a dreadful title: the Warmastered Edition. Like ‘remastered’, yeah? But War because the game’s about that surly fella out the Four Horseman? The preponderance of puns is the surest sign of the impending end times, if you ask me. But this surely brings us closer to a Darksiders III?

Legend of Kay Is Basically Samurai Pizza Cats: The Game

I have only vague memories of Legend of Kay, which came out in 2005 and is about a cat that’s a samurai or something. It’s strange when the only real criteria I have for games is for them to feature bipedal animals, and Legend of Kay has these in abundance.

Considering how few waves it made when it launched, it’s maybe stranger that Nordic Games have decided to take on this old platformer to try and give it a second run. Legend of Kay: Anniversary [official site is coming out 10 years after the original PlayStation 2 release. Nordic are aiming for a bigger cross-section of gamers this time, releasing the remaster to PC too.
