Wet Wandering: Lovely Weather We’re Having Is Out

Edinburgh is currently a wee bit rainy. You can tell, because I took that screenshot of Lovely Weather We’re Having [official site] up there ↑ about two minutes ago. I then wandered about a bit, kicked some boingy rocks, and leapt in the pond for a chat with a strange creature wearing a party hat. Lovely Weather, see, is an explore-o-playground game using time and weather data from the world outside your own window to affect its own world and the people in it. It’s just launched the afternoon, and it is nice.

Lovely Weather We’re Having Forecast For November 10

“Lovely weather we’re having” is such an elusive term where I’m from in deepest, darkest Glasgow that it could almost be considered Scottish lore. Like the Loch Ness Monster, Haggis creatures bounding around our infinite rolling hills of purple heather, or deep fried Mars bars, the phrase is not seen or heard or experienced very often. Lovely Weather We’re Having [official site], on the other hand, is a lovely video game playground. It uses local weather data based on where you are to alter your game, see. I’ve enjoyed playing a beta version, and the full game’s out on November 10th.

Lovely Weather We’re Having Checks Your Skies

OH GOD, NEW PHOBIA

Here’s a cute 3D explorer game about the weather that’s just popped up on Steam Greenlight. It’s called Lovely Weather We’re Having [official site] and it looks gentle and colourful and weathery which is rather appealing as I’ve had a nice morning of typing and listening to the rain fall outside.

“You play as a young girl who’s locked out of her house, and there’s also a cute dog and a dozen NPC friends with distinct personalities,” says developer Julian Glander. The neat part for me is that the environment she is exploring changes to reflect local weather data.
