Adorable Exploration: Ittle Dew 2 Coming This Summer

Back in 2013, Ittle Dew was a pleasant surprise: a lovely 2D puzzle adventure built mostly around block-pushing puzzles. Resident ‘feels’ expert John Walker wanted to cuddle it, mostly thanks to the charming writing and art, but, perhaps unexpectedly, the puzzles were often enjoyable as well.

Three years later, Ittle Dew 2 [official site] is ready to make its appearance, and it’s bringing some changes. Ittle and her uninterested sidekick Tippsie will be exploring a new island in adorable 3D graphics, with a bigger focus on action and combat, and new puzzles that don’t necessarily involve block pushing. Will it be time for more cuddling?

Keen Thinking: MURI

Ah, life was easier back in the days of DOS. No, that’s bollocks: you had to dick around with command lines, XMS/EMS, monitors the size of bears and games which required 17 floppy disks. Also the only Nandos in the UK was in London. Rubbish. However, I am taken straight back to a childhood of acne and EGA in a vaguely pleasant nostalgo-haze when gazing upon this footage of DOS-style jumpy-shooter MURI.

Prettier Than a Billionty Pictures: Ittle Dew

It is the year 2311, and coffee tables have been banned. In fact, anything that’s basically a ledge that rests at shin height has been decreed an enemy of the state by the Grand Unseer. She also banned glasses, binoculars, and contact lenses for being “a vicious mockery from the Visionists”. Also: 3D glasses. The great purge began on July 5th, 2013. That was the release date of gorgeous indie game ittle Dew, a puzzley adventure game that’s so pretty that some who watched the trailer chose to deliberately blind themselves. People stared directly at the sun, welcoming the milky darkness that enveloped them, choosing being “unvisioned” over using their eyes on things that weren’t ittle Dew.
