Black Panther, Monster Hunter & Sigma hit Marvel vs Capcom Infinite

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is a maddening game. At heart, it’s a solid addition to the classic Capcom tag-team fighting series. A festival of explosions, colours, superheroic excess and Capcom’s forgotten characters dusted off for a cameo. Unfortunately, it’s also a mess of questionable design decisions and bizarre corner-cutting, letting down an otherwise excellent core experience.

The latest of these questionable decisions is the choice to sell three characters featured in the main story of the game as paid DLC shortly after release. This week on Tuesday, Black Panther, Monster Hunter and Sigma arrived for the price of £6.49/$8 each, on top of the £40 you’ve already paid. Ouch.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite confirms Gamora and more-a

The crossover tag-team lineup of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite [official site] will welcome Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy, Nemesis from Resident Evil, Haggar from Final Fight and Street Fighter, Frank West from Dead Rising, and Spider-Man from Spider-Man, Capcom confirmed over the weekend. Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite biffing into September

The crossover biffing of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite [official site] will arrive on September 19th, Capcom announced today. The fighting game will throw more Marvel and Capcom characters together in 2v2 scraps. Capcom also confirmed a few more characters — Ultron, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, Rocket Raccoon, Chun-Li, Strider Hiryu, and Chris Redfield — and explained a little of the story. Marvel’s robotic villain Ultron is teaming up with Sigma out Mega Man X to robotify all that grubby organic life, which leads to fisticuffs. The PC games of 2017 mega-preview

As Old Father Time grabs his sickle and prepares to take ailing 2016 around the back of the barn for a big sleep, we’re looking to the future. The mewling pup that goes by the name 2017 will come into the world soon and we must prepare ourselves for its arrival. Here at RPS, our preparations come in the form of this enormous preview feature, which contains details on more than a hundred of the exciting games that are coming our way over the next twelve months. 2016 was a good one – in the world of games at least – but, ever the optimists, we’re hoping next year will be even better.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite biffing onto PC in 2017

Fightyfolk out the funny pages and warriors from the Pac-Mens will clash once more in Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite. Over the weekend, Capcom announced the next in their crossover fighting game series, which will ZAM onto Windows in “late 2017”. It’ll once again see a jumble of Capcom characters, from Ryu to Mega Man X, getting into it with Marvelous folk like Iron Man and Captain Marvel. ZONK!

Capcom also announced that a fancied-up re-release of 2011’s Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 [official site], which skipped PC, will be scrapping round our way next year. Read the rest of this entry »
