Sonic-y, DKC-ish Mekazoo Rolls Out Next Week

Mekazoo [official site] is an homage to 90’s platformers, looking to draw from games like Sonic the Hedgehog and Donkey Kong Country. It offers five different mekanimals for you to control, and emphasizes momentum and tight controls. There’s also a “hive-mind” co-op mode, in which you and a friend each control an animal, but only one player can play at any given time. Spinny Blue Things Platforming: A Gander At Mekazoo

If you like games where small blue animals curl up into balls, charge up spins, then rocket around loop-the-loops, you might want to keep an eye on Mekazoo [official site]. It’s a side-scrolling platformer looking jolly ’90s in general, not simply Sonic-y mind, with mechanical animals whizzing around colourful worlds and bashing enemies and collecting shiny things.
