Nobunaga’s Ambition Grows With Ascension In English

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence – Ascension [official site], a standalone follow-up to Koei Tecmo’s latest sim-o-strategy take on Japanese history, is now out in English. Technically it’s been on Steam since March but, y’know, it takes mighty ambition to play a game in a foreign language. Nobunaga’s Ambition is set during the Sengoku period of feudal Japan, having players duke it out for control of territory and resources – the usual war stuff. Heading West – Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere Of Influence

The problem with Nobunaga’s Ambition is that the title is a constant reminder of the fantastic Onimusha series, which Capcom has long since abandoned. So while my heart is heavy once again, in mourning of a once great franchise, I’m also pleased to see that Koei Tecmo has announced that it will be sending Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence [official site] to the western world this September 4th. Good news for turn-based grand strategy fans!
