World War Z’s co-op action actually looks a lark

My expectations for games based on movies are never high, so I’m surprised and delighted that World War Z actually looks quite fun in gameplay footage swarming out of E3. The four-player cooperative shooter looks a whole lot like a less-cheery version of Left 4 Dead, with a touch of defence-building and oh, swarms of up to 500 zombies who will form inhuman pyramids to reach you and eat your face. It’s based on the movie, so yes, they are fast zombies, but those rolling waves of zombs were pretty neat-o. Anyway, click on to watch.

Star Trek To Feature Ship From Star Trek

Star Trek has been in development for over four hundred and fifty thousand years now. The game’s set between the two J.J. Abrams films, yet still calls itself simply “Star Trek”, presumably in a bid to be as impossible to Google for as is humanly imaginable. (They may as well have called it “Britney Spears”.) The release is currently set for April 23rd in the States, then it slowly drifts to Europe by the 26th. And today they’re promising us “the opportunity to explore the USS Enterprise.” And, the slow drip of two new screenshots (clickem to biggem).

“Buzz The Tower”: Top Gun Announced

Will the game feature Iceman on a highway to Maverick's dangerzone?
DoubleSix and Paramount Digital have announced a Top Gun game. DoubleSix say: “We’ve all been hard at work on this for a good while and at its core the game is an arcade flight shooter in the same vein as Ace Combat and HAWX (though much faster and more visceral). Naturally, we’ll be talking about the game in the oncoming weeks and maybe even showing our suitably l33t skillz to boot.” Apparently the original screenwriter, Jack Epps Jr, has been involved to expand the universe, but I’ve got the feeling he’s going to struggle to top the particular ambiance of his original work…
