Pathologic remake confusingly renamed Pathologic 2 ‘to avoid confusion’

Ice Pick Lodge’s remake of Pathologic, their wonderfully unpleasant 2005 horror, has picked up a publisher and a confusing new name. The crowdfunded full remake is now named Pathologic 2 [official site], though it definitely is not a sequel. New publishers Tinybuild say that the name is, somehow, “to avoid confusion”. Right-o. Pathologic teases trailers and a demo for Kickbackers

The remake/reimagining of Pathologic [official site] is being teased in some ongoing trailers this week, possibly to remind us that it still exists and is on target for an Autumn release next year. Meanwhile, some Kickstarter backers are getting a playable demo featuring a chunk of the plagued town-in-progress. Was the original Pathologic good? Was it horrific?
