Dark Souls: Remastered is out now – and it’s already got an infamous hacker

darksouls

Crack open a nice cold soul, fans of permanently holding up a shield while you walk. Dark Souls: Remastered has been released on Steam today, a day earlier than we’d believed. The original Prepare to Die Edition was pulled from sale two weeks ago, so if you didn’t buy it then, this is now your only PC doorway to popular resort town Undead Burg. The Remastered edition is half-price for those who already own the old version. But the changes are minor, and there’s a more unnerving problem. Players are under attack from a notorious hacker, a dark spirit who invades worlds and corrupts the save files of innocent undeads. Read the rest of this entry »

Klonk! Powie! Zowie! Injustice 2 punches onto PC

Superheroes, supervillains, and superantiheroes from DC Comics are now kicking seven shades of heck out of each other in Injustice 2, the new fighting game from Mortal Kombat developers NetherRealm. The supersequel hit consoles in May and finally launched on PC today. Our Adam already played a bit on PlayStation 4 quite likes it so good, grand, ta. Read the rest of this entry »

Injustice 2 coming to PC, open beta starts tomorrow

Update: Injustice 2’s PC open beta hasn’t kicked off today, unfortunately. Is Brainiac to blame? Is evil Superman up to his old tricks again? The developers are keeping shtum right now, but have promised more information. We’ll let you know when a new date is announced.

Although I don’t particularly care for its Snydery grimdark take on DC, I have been enjoying Injustice 2 a lot. It lives on my PS4 and I wasn’t sure if it’d ever come to PC, but Warner and developers NetherRealm (they of Mortal Kombat) send word that a port is on its way. And not only is it set to arrive in this very season of autumn, an open beta will begin tomorrow on Steam. Cracking news.

Mortal Kombat X’s Long-Overdue Overhaul Patch Is Out

When the konsole versions of Mortal Kombat X [official site] got fancied-up earlier this year with new netcode and more (silly) DLC characters, we sat like lemons. Publishers Warner Bros. stepped away from the game, murmuring incoherently as they left.

Well, better late than never. Improved netcode, bug fixes, balance tweaks, and other technical improvements are now here, as MKX’s big overhaul patch launched yesterday. Also out is the Kombat Pack 2 paid DLC, adding new characters like, uh, a Xenomorph. You may now resume crushing skulls and whipping out spines.

Monster Munch: God Eater 2 Released On PC

It seems unlikely that Capcom will release a proper Monster Hunter game on PC any time soon but hey, we do now have an attractive Monstalike option. God Eater 2 Rage Burst [official site], a Monstalike action-RPG from Bandai Namco, came out today and they’re throwing in a revamp of the first game too.
