Red Dead Redemption 2 existence on PC possibly leaked via LinkedIn

red dead PC

Tradition dictates that Rockstar may not discuss the PC version of any of its games, or even admit that they exist, until we’ve all given up any hope of seeing them. So while Red Dead Redemption 2 was unveiled for consoles a while back, there’s been no news for PC. With Rockstar keeping schtum, there was only one hope: LinkedIn. The Keeper of CVs. The Spiller of Secrets. So what say you, LinkedIn? Is Red Dead Redemption 2 doing what the original didn’t and coming to PC?

Supposedly. Read the rest of this entry »

Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer introduces its cowboy

Dead or alive please but not both

Howdy, etc. A new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 [official site] has been revealed by Rockstar games, showing off  a little more of the wild west and introducing protagohero Arthur Morgan. We’re not allowed to get excited about this, because it hasn’t been officially announced for the PC yet. But my gizzards are telling me you want to know anyway, just in case those rustlers up at Rockstar have the grace to indulge a quite massive chunk of potential customer Enough of this! Come see the trailer below, which features the following: guns, men, a train.

Red Dead Redemption 2 delayed into 2018

We still don’t know for sure whether open world western Red Dead Redemption 2 [official site] is coming to PC at all. But one thing we do know for sure is that it’s coming out for consoles this autu– what? Oh. Oh, I see. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be coming out for consoles in spring 2018, says Rockstar, embracing the delay into next year by saying that “some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.” Fair enough. They’ve also released some dusty screenshots, to soften the wound.

Red Dead Redemption 2: The Reveal Trailer

Update: it’s aired! Full YouTube trailer below. It is, er, brief. But very pretty and pleasantly tranquil.

I’ll be honest: I’m writing the bones of this post before the hopefully below trailer’s actually aired (in five minutes from the time of posting), because that’s how the internet works these days. So, for all I know, all the Red Dead Redemption 2 [official site] ad consists of is Sam Houser screaming “screw PC gaming and the horse it rode in on” at the screen for 68 seconds, but hell, let’s be optimistic. Red Dead Redemption 2 Announced, PC Not Confirmed

As expected, Rockstar have strapped on their shooting iron and saddled up to announce Red Dead Redemption 2 [official site]. 2010’s Red Dead Redemption, an open-world cowboy ’em up in the modern Grand Theft Auto style, is perhaps my favourite Rockstar game so this is splendid news.

In a disappointing but unsurprising turn, no, Rockstar haven’t said anything about a PC version yet; only console releases are confirmed. I’m not worried, mind, as it took Rockstar ages to talk about Grand Theft Auto V on Windows then we received a fine PC version – one which rarely leaves the Steam top 10. Surely it’ll come here too. Rockstar Are Teasing A Red Dead Redemption Sequel

For PC folks, Red Dead Redemption is the lost Rockstar game. It’s also the Rockstar game that people seem to love the most and that can seem like a case of absence making the heart grow fonder, given that it is sequel-less and unavailable on our platform of choice. All of that may be coming to an end.

Rumours of a remaster or sequel have been doing the rounds for a while but Rockstar’s twitter feed appears to have confirmed that something Red Dead related is due to be announced. Sequel? Remaster? Multiplayer spin-off? Whatever it is, let’s hope it comes to PC.
