In the RPS “When is BioShock Infinite Out?” sweepstakes, Jim Chose Oct 17th, John Oct 18th, Alec Oct 20th, Adam Oct 21st, and I swung in with September 19th 7019. It turns out none of us have particularly well-defined psychic powers, and I was WAY off: mark October 19th down on your calendar as “National BioShock Infinite release day”. That sweet trailer from December is below, to soothe your beating hearts.

Start getting excited, because Rock, Paper, Shotgun will soon be releasing its trailer to celebrate the announcement of a release date for the reveal date for its next trailer! But in the meantime, why not enjoy the trailer released to announce the launch date for Borderlands 2? Which is the 18th September in the US, then after a long swim the 21st Sept in the UK/EU. Which is aaaaaages away.
Ooh, I’ve come overall military. Let me try that again: “I don’t know what I’ve been told, Spec Ops: The Line is out June 29th”. Ah, military cadence is a wonderful medium for delivering game news. The Dubai set Gears of War-ish shooter that Adam liked but I have concerns about is taking advantage of the sweltering heat of summer and potential beach holidays. Imagine, an entire marketing campaign claiming to have brought about sand and sun. There’s also a multiplayer video that shows off the perks of pre-ordering, below.

This is the ‘official’ version of the Far Cry 3 trailer, which is almost exactly the same as the one that leaked earlier on today. I actually felt bad about linking to that one, but we’re all about disclosure here at RPS: whether you’re Ubisoft or John Walker, we’ll get to the heart of the story, no matter what. So, tell us Ubisoft: why did the leaked trailer have a Sept 6 release date when this one says Sept the 7th?
This feels dirty: the Far Cry 3 trailer has leaked a day early, a CGI introduction to the lead character’s holiday going stinky. I have just watched it and can confirm there’s bad language, a boat, guns, and a man not shooting someone when he really, really should have. It also confirms the release date as September 6th, and has dubstep. If you want to watch it, the link’s there, although there’s every chance it’ll be pulled by legal ninjas. In that case, there’s a teaser trailer below.
Capcom’s on-again-off-again romance with the PC seems to be firmly set to ON at the moment. Not only is Resident Evil 6 slated for a PC release this November, but Street Fighter X Tekken is set for PC in May. 11th May to be precise. That’s a strange two months later than the console release, but it’s still an interesting release for a platform that isn’t exactly overwhelmed by ‘fighting’ games. We’ve got the five new PC screenshots below.
I don’t own a car, but I presume “The development team felt they needed a little bit of extra time to optimise the game” is the development equivalent of “The spang wheel has upcocked the hurr-durr”, which is what all car-speak sounds like to me. Namco-Bandai’s arcade racing game Ridge Racer’s spang wheel trouble has seen its release date slip out by a month, and it’ll now be road-worthy on March 30th, and not a day before. I know the real reason for the slip. I’ll bet developers Bugbear Interactive forgot to factor in the time it takes for documentarians to record their work, and the tightest musical producers to make electronic noize to go over the top. Can you guess what I have lined up for you?
