Rezzed: Chris Avellone & Ragnar Tørnquist In Session

As if there weren’t already enough reasons to visit this year’s Rezzed (in only a week’s time!), I’m really thrilled about two developer sessions I’ll be hosting. And even more thrilled about who will be on those panels. With game-creating gurus Chris Avellone and Ragnar Tørnquist appearing on both, you’d be a fruitcake not to come along.

Rezzed 2013: Wildstar, Hotline Miami, Day Z Standalone

We’re only eight sleeps away from Rezzed 2013 at the NEC, and we can announced that Carbine’s Wildstar, the space-frontier MMO, will be playable on the show floor! The developer sessions have been finalised, too, with our own John Walker running panels at 12 on both days, and Hotline Miami vs Luftrausers on Sunday. Sunday will also feature the Day Z Standalone and Wildstar developer sessions.

Looks like this will have the same awesome chilled atmosphere as last year, with a boardgame arena for you sit down and play Star Wars: X-Wing, Carcassonne, and other classics. (If you’ve not played X-Wing yet, then get in line for that, it’s fantastic.)

The Rezzed 2013 Gamejam With Creative Assembly

The world’s foremost PC gaming gathering, Rezzed 2013, is not far away now, and announcements are still arriving on our desk like memos in a 1950s newspaper office montage. The latest is that Total War makers The Creative Assembly are sponsoring the prizes for our gamejam, which will be taking place all day on the 22nd. The jam is open to four-person teams, and the results of these team’s work will be judged by the Guardian’s Keith Stuart, Obsidian’s Chris Avellone, and Splash Damage’s Ed Stern.

Teams hoping to jam should email us by 14th June with a team name and details of those who want to take part. The Rezzed chaps will notify teams being invited to take part as soon as possible.

The Creative Assembly are going to pick the theme. But what should it be?

Rezzed 2013: Ubisoft Games Confirmed!

The PC gaming event to rule them all, Rezzed 2013, is mere weeks away, and you… you are going, right? We shouldn’t have to tempt you by saying that Splinter Cell: Blacklist, The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot, Might & Magic: Duel of Champions, Trials Evolution Gold and Ghost Recon Online will all be playable on the show floor. Other things that are confirmed: Total War: Rome II, Prison Architect, Company Of Heroes 2, Shadow Warrior, Frozen Endzone, Sir, You Are Being Hunted, Gone Home, Space Hulk, and talks from luminaries such as Obsidian’s Chris Avellone and Red Thread’s Rangar Tornquist.

Get tickets. OMG get them.

Rezzed 2013 And The Leftfield Collection

Rezzed 2013 is our PC and indie games event which is happening on 22nd and 23rd of June at the NEC in Birmingham, UK. Here’s why you should come along: You’ll be able to play a huge range of unreleased games, from Total War: Rome 2, to Sir, You Are Being Hunted, and hear from handsome industry luminaries such as Rangar Tornquist and Chris Avellone. You’ll also be able to get your hands on some of the best unreleased indie games on PC and mobile/tablet in what we cleverly call “The Leftfield Collection”. Curated by leading indie advocate David Hayward, the collection includes lusty indie hopefuls such as The Fullbright Company’s Gone Home, Abbey Games’s Reus, and Size Five’s Gun Monkeys.
