Dragone: Platinum’s Scalebound cancelled

Scalebound [official site], the action-RPG about fighting monsters and riding dragons from Bayonetta devs Platinum, has been cancelled. Microsoft, Scalebound’s publishers, confirmed yesterday that they have cancelled the game but they didn’t give a reason. Rumour has it development was mighty troubled and behind schedule, but rumour also has it that I ♡ Gary Jones so don’t believe everything you read on toilet walls. Ah, Scalebound did look a bit iffy in demos but I had hoped that was just a quirk of E3 staging. The PC games of 2017 mega-preview

As Old Father Time grabs his sickle and prepares to take ailing 2016 around the back of the barn for a big sleep, we’re looking to the future. The mewling pup that goes by the name 2017 will come into the world soon and we must prepare ourselves for its arrival. Here at RPS, our preparations come in the form of this enormous preview feature, which contains details on more than a hundred of the exciting games that are coming our way over the next twelve months. 2016 was a good one – in the world of games at least – but, ever the optimists, we’re hoping next year will be even better.

Bayonetta Devs Platinum Bringing Scalebound To PC

Look, I admit it: I’ve been over-excited about games like games like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because I’m so desperate to have PlatinumGames on PC. They are one of the very finest developers around, but most of their best work is on their own creations: Bayonetta, Vanquish, and the like. So huzzah! Scalebound [official site], an actual Proper Platinum Game, is coming to Windows 10 as well as Xbone.

It’s a game about a young lad and his dragon pal duffing up nasties, including the honking great crab seen in this E3 gameplay video:
