Songbringer gets tuned up with a new boss and difficulty

Songbringer

It’s always been a surprise to me that last year’s Songbringer didn’t catch on more, especially given John’s gushing review. Hot on the heels of the likes of Hyper Light Drifter, it presented a similar brand of deliciously pixelly hack n’ slashery, but paired to a remarkably robust rogue-ish template. What you’re doing, why you’re doing it, how best to do it – that’s what I’m putting together the more I play. Here’s wot I think: Read the rest of this entry »

Songbringer uses letters to generate RPG worlds

Songbringer

Oh! Songbringer [official site] – a procedurally-generated RPG which was first announced/spoken of back in the mists of 2015 – is now almost finished and is due for release in this, the Year of the Mammoth. I wanted to flag it up primarily because I don’t tend to like pixel art and this has some lovely-looking pixel art/pixel art adjacent places! Read the rest of this entry »
