See the swish swordfighting of meleefest Mordhau

Oh sure, For Honor is some fun arcade action but what about the serious Internet swordsman left sharpening his blades in front of Netflix? You, O pal o’ mine, might fancy a look at the upcoming Mordhau [official site]. Mordhau is a first-person medieval melee multiplayer murderfest boasting a deep combat system with some swish sword simulation. That’s the plan, at least. Absurdo-Swordfighting Game For Honor Has Solo Play

I didn’t actually know Ubisoft were doing a sword-fighting game – I missed it in all the E3 noise. Seems a little bit niche for them in a way, but then again after making 98 different Assassin’s Creeds they’ve probably got the world’s largest archive of clashing steel sound effects, so For Honor [official site] makes a lot of sense.

Neal Stephenson’s Making A Game, Called CLANG

Seriously.

Bam. Neal Stephenson, the author of science and historical fiction like Snow Crash and The System Of The World, has just announced he’s making a game. In fact, he announces he’s been researching how to make a game for years, and now he’s ready to make it. A sword fighting game, that will address his frustration with how sword fighting has been portrayed and delivered so far. With a Kickstarter video. With Gabe Newell in it.
